This kit is great. One of the big drawbacks about the Slice was that you had to hold it down while it cut. Granted, it wasn't a long time but if you were making multiple die cuts at once, it got tiresome.
But no more!! The magnets are SUPER strong, so the machine doesn't go anywhere. The only drawback from the slice refusing to budge is that it makes it difficult if you are trying to use every scrap and you need the paper to line up. But that has nothing to do with the quality or functionality. That's just a byproduct of frugality!
Also, the 12x12 glass mat is great and on the reverse side you can use it for embossing. I use the mat for my embossing jobs and I don't have the tips for the Slice yet. It's great.
This is the best upgrade ever for the Slice!! Here's what I'd like to tell you:
1) The magnetic feature works - no more holding the unit in place while it cuts.
2) The new collar just snaps into place over the unit - no fuss!
3) The kit doesn't come with adhesive to prep the new mat so BE SURE TO ORDER SOME. I was without it for a few days and couldn't play...so disappointing.
4) I don't have the equipment to use the emboss/draw foam side of the mat but it's sure a nice feature. The mat slides if you push on it but otherwise stays in place while cutting.
This is the best upgrade MM has made for the Slice! I love it! The magnet feature is awesome and really holds everything in place. It's awesome for embossing - which I didn't do much of because the paper kept moving around. It's well worth the money!
What a great addition to the Slice Die Cutting Machine. It makes cutting multiple items much easier. Would love to have received a covering case for the larger, magnetic board. If it's sticky still, it can attach to almost everything in my scrapbooking bag. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Love it otherwise!
