Too Many Problems 2nd time around
I purchased this model of the Slice after the last one I had quit working and the manufacturers refused to fix it because it was an Australian model (how was I to know the one I bought wouldn't be a US model). I enjoyed my new Slice for a little over a year until the blade quit retracting and wouldn't cut properly. The manufacturers wouldn't fix it because it was past it's one year warranty. If you have problems with your Slice, and I promise you there will be at least one, you will get NO help from the company. They wouldn't even let me send the old model to them to do away with. At least I got $5 out of it by selling it at a garage sale even though it didn't work. The product is good until a problem occurs. Then you might as well trash it.
