      BEST ever!

A few years back when eyelets starting appearing everywhere in scrapbooking I saved my money, clipped a coupon and purchased a Making Memories Tool Kit. Immediately there were problems. First, this tool needed a hard surface, often my craft table would not do and I had to kneel on our cement floor to make it work. It took two hands and the noise was a huge drawback. And although the tiny hammer was so very cute, I looked for something more. I then received the Provo Craft Silent Setter as a gift and I am very happy with it. It solved all of these problems I had with the previous setter and was much more practical and economical.

Why the Silent Setter is different. The first thing I liked about the Silent Setter was it's size. In it's case it measures only 7" tall, 3.5" wide and 2" deep. It is considerably lighter than the Making Memories eyelet system and has a zipper which closes it completely which makes it easy to throw into your cropping bag and go.

Second, it contains all you need within it's small case. The setter, tools, healing mat and it even comes with a small plastic container filled with eyelets. I emptied the eyelets and replaced them with my most frequently used small silver brads. Other crafters may feel they need the other tools which come in the Making Memories set, but I never used them.

Third, it only requires one hand. That means you can use the other hand to steady your paper so no slippage occurs (more about this when I show my featured project.) This tool is completely noise free, which means a lot to this Mommy of two.

And lastly, the price is much more affordable than other eyelet setters on the market.

    • A Must have for Mom's!

I absolutely adore my Silent Setter, it is an essential part of my tool collection for many reasons. First, it is silent! WooHoo! I don't have to go outside to punch holes and set eyelets any more after the children have gone to bed! Second, it is much more accurate than my hammer driven setters. Third, How cute and handy is that case?? I love how convenient it is. Every thing is right there, the mat is removable and a very handy size. I recommend standing when you use the silent setter, it gives you the extra force that you need to use the setter efficiently. I find that standing is required when you are punching through multiple sheets of CS or setting ginormous eyelets.

    • Quickly growing on me...

I just received the Silent Setter and am very much enjoying the ability to use eyelets as this is my first setter. I have to agree with most - for the aluminum eyelets the setter is great and for most standard metal eyelets it's a bit more difficult to use but it does eventually do the job.
I've found that too much pushing and twisting for the tougher eyelets can (not horribly but still) stretch or slightly rip the hole made for the eyelet, perhaps it's all in the technique as I'm new to this, but I thought it was worth mentioning...still very happy with my setter!

Edit: Just changed my review from 4 to 5 stars, I use this all the time, and it does get easier to use very quickly!

    • This is great!!

I love my Silent Setter! I had resisted eyelets for a long time because I didn't want to add embellishments that required a hammer. I had tried the Crop-a-dile (both versions), but I have small hands and found them too cumbersome for me. I found the Silent Setter at a good price and decided to give it a try. I find it very easy to use, and love that I don't have to worry about how far into the page I want my eyelet. I'm now looking for more places to set eyelets. I love that it comes contained in its own storage and takes up little space in my bag. It goes to every crop with me now. I definitely recommend this product!

      Loving My Setter

I just received this as a gift for Mother's Day. I used a Eyelet setter before but never the silent setter. This setter is noise free and it is so easy to use. Just put a hole in the paper with the tool.. put the eyelet through the hole.. Push and turn, push and turn and your done!! I set 5 eyelets on 1 page in 3 minutes. It's quick, easy, and gets the job done QUIETLY! If you like using eyelets, I definitely suggest you get the Provo Craft Silent setter!

    • Love my Silent Setter!

I love this tool! It is so easy to use and easy to store and take with you. I love the fact that it doesn't make any noise so there's no need to worry about waking anybody.
As mentioned in another review, I would recommend to stand while using it.
I have used this with different brands of eyelets and all kinds of different sizes and have had no problems so far. The little mat it comes with is also very handy.

      Not too tough

This product is great! You get 3 different sizes instead of two and there's no loud hammer. Sometime the Crop-A-Dile doesn't work as well for me so I tend to use it for my bigger eyelets and this for my smaller eyelets. The setting mat is a nice mat too! I was surprised at how easy it was to set the eyelets by just pushing. And you don't have to push hard either!

      This is a great product!

    • One of my favorite tools

I managed a scrapbook store and recommended this to everyone getting started with eyelets. It's so easy to use, everything is self-contained, and it doesn't take up too much room in my carrying bag. But above all, it's quiet.

It's easier for me if I stand when I use it but not everyone seems to need to do that.
