Can you tell me, when you use a right shim to get a good cut, does it make it extremely hard to turn the crank handle?

If you are using just the right amount shim it may be slightly harder to turn but you should not try to force too thick of a sandwich through the machine.
Does this die work with a Sizzix Big Shot? I bought it and can't get it to cut all the way through my card stock, with or without a metal shim, using brand new plates. It will cut around the very edges some but the majority of the design is imprinted but doesn't cut all the way through. If it does work, what do I need to do differently to get it to work?

Hi Kimberly! I own this die, and mine works with the Big Shot, but I do need to use a shim. Actually, instead of a shim, I stack cardstock on top. Through trial and error, I work with how many pieces I need to get the right pressure for a better cut. Sometimes I need to go in with scissors for a few tiny details, but usually it's minimal. I hope that helps!
