I use it for mixed media scrapbooking and like it much better than thick paper. It's thicker than thick paper and when I use gesso over it, I can use acrylics.
This is a block pad. It is glued (bound) at both the top and bottom of the pad. And the pages are not a starck white. The paper is nice quality. Getting the pages apart so I can use one sheet at a time without ripping them is a huge hassle. I regret this purchase.
I am very frustrated right now. I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to get a sheet of watercolor paper off the pad without tearing . I have even tried using an exacto knife to try to separate the paper from the heavy glue binding, and still had several tears.

This one was done "carefully" with my fingers.

I should have read the reviews. The paper is a nice thick watercolor paper, but it is so thickly glue-bound on two opposite sides that it is impossible to remove a sheet without tearing. You can't even cut through the glue. I am so disappointed about this. I really thought a 12x12 watercolor paper would be perfect for making scrapbook pages. I never expected not to be able to get to the inner pages. Is it truly supposed to be like this? Or is it a manufacturing defect? I've bought a lot of watercolor paper in my life and never had paper bound like this.
Instead of "20 pages", it should say 2, because you can only really get to the top and bottom page.
