This finishing spray will be that final magic touch before you say, "It's perfect!" Give your completed mixed media projects that perfect finishing touch and a hint of shine with the Finnabair Art Alchemy Pixie Dust Fixative from Prima Marketing!

Contents: One bottle of Finnabair Art Alchemy Pixie Dust Fine Shimmer Spray Fixative

Size: 2 fluid oz bottle (note: comes as loose powder only - just add tap water)

The Pixie Dust Fixative is the perfect way to make sure your thin layers of fine glitter, powder, or sand don't end up everywhere on your finished layout, and also give it a nice, shiny coat.

If you're working on a mixed media masterpiece, this fun spray adds an extra layer of shiny awesomeness. The jet spray nozzle allows you the freedom to go crazy and add some splashes that will dry clear and glossy. If you're feeling extra adventurous, use a drip technique to run glitter powders in streaks for an added effect on your background layout.

Features:

  • Dries clear
  • Gives a shiny coat to finished projects
  • Adheres loose glitter, shimmer, powders, flakes, and dusts and fixes them in place
  • Can be used as a finishing coat over mica sprays
  • Archival-safe
  • Non-toxic
  • Removable plastic spray stopper to avoid unintentional sprays
  • Jet stream spray nozzle for powerful spray action

Safety and Usage Tips:

  • Add tap water only three-quarters (3/4) of the way to the top of the bottle
  • Swirl or shake the contents together to dissolve the powder (the powder may take up to 15 minutes to fully absorb into the water)
  • If powder clumps at the bottom of the intake, use a pin to dislodge it for best spray results
  • If used as a first coat on a project, it will slightly resist the pigment and effects of sprays
  • Allow finished projects to dry overnight
  • There is a metal ball bearing in the bottle to aid in mixing that can come out of the top of the bottle when opened; keep out of reach of children

Finish your project with a shiny sheen with Art Alchemy's Pixie Dust Fine Shimmer Spray Fixative!

  • It says this product dries clear, but does it dry shiny or matte?   By: ShanCrafter (30-Jun-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I agree with the other response. It dries shiny. Also, I ended up using a paint brush dipped into the mixture and then sprinkling the glitter or whatever onto the surface. For a small item, I put some of the fixative into a fine small sprayer and sprayed the piece. I liked the results better. By: choover4 (03-Jul-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Its dries in between matt and gloss but it slightly alters the colors around the area sprayed, especially on flowers. My suggestion would be to use a sm. paint brush and drip it lightly over the areas., unless your doing a large LO then spray lightly. Test area first is my recommendation! I do however LOVE the product because keeps beads, etc from rolling when dry! By: LauralsAttic (02-Jul-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. • You may need to remove the clear piece on the neck of the bottle which allows the product to spray. Hope this helps! By: Scrapbook.com (16-Jul-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • One you mix this fixative, how long is it usable? Will it dry out or get too sticky to use?   By: maggsl (18-May-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • As long as the bottle is sealed tightly it should last for quite some time but like any craft product can dry out or change over long periods of time. By: Scrapbook.com (19-May-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

I'm not understanding the description of "fixing" loose media like shimmer, mica and glitter. How does it "fix" it? I know glitter can be loose, but how is shimmer loose? I am confused what this product does.   By: User (14-Jul-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The fixative keeps anything that is loose from rubbing off, and anything that might be a bit sticky from adhering to opposite page (in art journal). Some shimmery products can smudge, so this prevents that. By: moeflood (15-Jul-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
