This is a great stencil for your art journaling. That's what I use it for. I have sooo many of Dyan Reavely's stencils and stamps.
I chose this stencil because of the detail of each of the lines. Mostly for the straight line at the bottom as it looks a little bit like stitching. I tried it and have not mastered it yet but still very happy with my purchase. I will keep working on it. I love this stencil.
Don’t really care for this particular stencil. I just can’t figure out anywhere it will look right.

RE: the Ranger STITCH-IN-TIME Stencil - are the "stitches" the same size on the large and small stencil, or are they smaller on the small stencil?

Yes, the stitches are smaller on the small stencil. Dyan mentioned that she scaled them appropriately so that you can use a Mini Blending Tool without worry of getting the other design next to the one you are using. Check out her videos/classes here on Scrapbook.com they are fun and she is a great teacher.
