I was looking for a clear gesso to use in my coloring books. I was hoping that the grit/texture would be minimal and I am please to say the texture will not harm your markers :)

Can this be used on old handwriting on paper or recipe cards to preserve the handwriting? If not what product would.

It probably could but it will make the papers a little stiff. You might want to try it on just a small patch first. Watch for smearing and brittleness. Since it’s a wet medium if whatever ink or pencil you are covering may activate and smear. If you’re covering water proof ink it should work great.
