Tim Holtz now has a Mica Spray set designed to add pearlescent shine to any paper craft or mixed media project. Mica Sprays adhere to most porous surfaces such as paper, canvas, wood and fabric. Designer Mica Sprays can be used as a finishing spray or layered over inks and paints. Each package includes three mica sprays in the following colors - Brushed Pewter, Antiqued Bronze and Tarnished Brass.
I have tried this on a few cards and loved the outcome. If using this for the first time get some type of box to put your card in as the spray comes out in a wide mist -- you dont want color all over the place.
These colors can overlap each other too. I used these on regular card stock and can't wait to try it on water color paper
Second time I have ordered them! They have a consistent fine spray, which is the perfect enhancement for my SteamPunk layouts. I like how I can layer the colors as well to build up to what suits me.
These are amazing - adds a touch of shimmer and shine - more subtle than glitter and very metallic looking. Excellent (make sure to spray where the over-spray can be captured or you'll get mica on everything!)
Distress mica spray is such a versatile product. Mica in a powder is very messy. Problem solved with the spray. So many uses. See the manufacturers videos for ideas.

Really enjoying these! They add a lot to my other inks when I want that extra shimmer. I have to keep myself from going overboard, sometimes, because I just love using them.

I recently purchased the Distress Mica Spray and the Media Mica Spray. It looked great in the video, however both packages say to clean spray nozzle immediately after use. What is the best way to clean the sprayers. Thanks and cheers! Tessa

Hi Tessa. Screw the nozzle away from the bottle, spray it empty, hold end of nozzletube in a tiny jar of water and spray again until water spraying out is clean. Spray outside of water until tube is empty, and mount nozzle again on original bottle. To avoid waste of mica use first out-spraying for an other project. Hope this helps. By, Viera

Does this product replace the Ranger Perfect Pearls mist? Is it work and look the same?

The Distress Mica Mists are a version of the Perfect Pearl Mists and they work and have the same effect as our Pearls do.
