I like this better than the original one. The main thing is to NOT overfill! I watched a Inklipse (Simon Hurley) video on YouTube that showed how to properly fill it with Gamsol and had no problems whatsoever. He used a pipette (easily purchased just about anywhere and not expensive) and it made it pretty easy to do. The main thing is take your time and don't rush it.
I used on both Prismacolor and Chameleon pencils and it worked like a charm! I love this blending pen so much, I threw my paper stumps I'd been using previously in the trash! I'm hoping TH/Ranger comes out with replacement nibs for this, then it'd be perfect. Buy this now--you won't be disappointed!
When I saw this item demo'd on YouTube, I knew I had to get it! Was I ever so right! This pen along with the GAMSOL blending solution, my, my! (remember. When filling the pen, using a refill tool is best. DON'T OVERFILL or the nibs will leak,) There is a great video on YouTube by Simon H of Inklipse.com, showing you hiy to fill the pen and use it. Go check it out!
I love coloring, that's the kid in me. After I was finished, I had those coloring lines, even though I color in circles, I still had lines! I used the Alcohol Blending pen, starting with the edges first (which I outlined with a "shadow color/shade first). Then I cleaned the tip and started working on the inside of the lines. When I finished, awesome results! NO FINE LINES ANYWHERE! It actually looked like I had painted it!
If you are like me. And like to color, the water color pencils and these nifty tools (Alcohol Blending Pen & GAMSOL solution) are a MUST HAVE! (I have not tried the chalks yet, but I am sure I will).

I have long been a fan of colored pencil coloring and gamsol, however I have not at all liked the paper nubs for blending. Putting gamsol in this pen has been a
life changer in this regard. The tip is stronger and cleans off easily between colors. I highly recommend it.

Like the narrower profile, but it it still decants blending solution all over, whether you want it to, or not! Messy tool---- squirting from the bottle gives better control.

I already have one of these that I put blending solution in and I'm going to use this to put alcohol in. They are great.
Turned this into a color pencil blender by filling with gamsol. I'm thrilled with the results.
