Instructions: To use the Sizzix Big Shot machine with thin metal dies (like the included Nested Flowers) use the included Sizzix Multi- Platform or an accessory platform such as the Sizzix Magnetic Platform, as well as the included set of cutting pads. To create your die cutting “sandwich”, begin by placing the platform on the bottom. On top of the platform, place one cutting pad. Then place your paper right side up on top of the cutting pad. Place the thin metal die on top of the paper, with the cutting edge down (in contact with the paper). Finish the die cut “sandwich” by placing the second cutting pad on top. Set the die and pad “sandwich” on the cutting path of the Big Shot machine, and turn the crank to move it through the machine.
To use the Sizzix Big Shot with a steel rule die, place the die between a pair of cutting pads with the paper face down over the part of the die design you would like to cut. If needed, use washi or masking tape to secure the paper in place to get perfect placement of your paper. Set the die and pad “sandwich” on the cutting path of the Big Shot machine, and turn the crank to move it through the machine.
For easy reference of how to assemble “sandwiches” with the included cutting pads for other types of dies and Sizzix accessories, use the Sizzix Sandwich Booklet that is included in this bundle!
TIP: The Sizzix Big Shot machine’s polycarbonate plastic cutting pads often make loud creaking, cracking and snapping noises while being cranked through the machine, that can sound alarming. Do not panic if your machine makes these noises while cutting! This is a normal part of machine operation and the cutting pads and machine are designed to withstand the pressures of cutting

I needed to replace a ten year old die cutting machine. After looking at all my options, I chose this Sizzix Big Shot Bundle for its value. While I have many dies, I had not invested in many nesting sets, so this was a great option in the Sizzix choices. Scrapbook.com ships immediately! That is a rare quality and much appreciated! The Sizzix Big Shot came well packaged and easy to start crafting with. It makes nice sharp die cuts and gorgeous embossing with the 3D or regular folders. Sometimes the sandwich doesn’t work, so I improvised with heavy cardstock, etc to get beautiful cuts and embossing. I’m very happy with my choice:-).

Good product, however, Scrapbook.com needs to pack product better before shipping order. Package was damaged. Received product in damaged box (hole in side of box). If there would have been any smaller items in box; these items surely would have been lost through the damaged area of the box. Thankfully, Sizzix Big Shot Machine was the only item in box.

Can I emboss with it and if do I need to buy special accessories

Hello and thank you for your question. Use this machine with thousands of thin metal dies (such as Sizzix Thinlit and Sizzix Framelit) and steel rule Sizzix dies, as well as a huge selection of Sizzix embossing folders. The Sizzix Big Shot cuts and embosses many different materials, such as paper, vellum, fabric, chipboard and cork to make your creative vision a reality.

The only thing you would need is steel rule dies as they are meant for heavier materials like fabric. Thin dies are not meant to cut heavier materials typically.

1.) I want to emboss some metal blanks. Can you use ONLY VINTAJ Copper & Brass Blank Metal for embossing with the BIG SHOT? 2.) ( I know SIZZIX sells DECO EMBOSSING DIES and DECO ETCH), but.... can OTHER metals, like IMPRESS ART ALUMINUM Blanks be EMBOSSED in the BIG SHOT? 3.) When embossing the blank metals, can you use OTHER brands of EMBOSSING FOLDERS (other than SIZZIX) to transfer the pattern onto the blanks? Thanks so much!

The motor cannot be purchased separately. The Big Shot Express and the Vagabond 2 are the only motorized machines available at this time from Sizzix. You can find them here...
I think you would have to contact rhe Sizzix company for that i formation.
