What is the difference between dye, pigment and hybrid ink?
Dye inks are water-based and literally dye your paper. The ink is soaked up by the paper or cardstock so they tend to dry fast. Pigment inks are made of tiny particles that will sit on top of your paper and will take a longer time to dry. They tend to be brighter, with a denser saturation of color and work well with dark colors of cardstock. They are also great for heat embossing since they stay wet longer. Hybrid inks are the best of the two ink types (dye and pigment) as they have properties of both inks. They also tend to be more translucent in their appearance. Hybrid inks are suitable for all skill levels of crafters due to their compatibility with multiple mediums and surfaces.

Pretty disappointing after reading several great reviews. I purchased to use on my holiday stamps. The gold didn't show up well at all on either light or dark colored cardstock. I tried using a light touch, a heavier touch, more ink, less ink, photopolymer stamps, rubber stamps...no luck. Didn't stamp evenly at all. The only way I could get the gold to show was to use my Tonic gold ep on it to make it shiny and more uniform--which kind of defeated the purpose.
*Edited 2/25/2021: Saw a disclaimer under my review stating it was about 'a related product'..ah, no. I purchased both the gold and the silver pads. The silver one remains unopened and this is about the gold pad.

I have used this ink to stencil a background. I have used this with gold embossing powder. Beautiful results each time. This is a very beautiful Metallic Gold.

How many ways can I say it does a wonderful ink transfer???? I have used it with high quality rubber stamps, and photo polymer stamps and not so great quality clear stamps. Each stamp transferred the ink perfectly. Very pleased.

It dries slow, so I tried to emboss gold on a black cardstock and it came out richer and fuller as doing it with clear embossing ink. Also great for applying it though a stencil.

I expected a brighter more vibrant gold ink. This color shows up lightly on dark colors.

This is a great pigment ink with a gorgeous shine to it. It stamps well if you're used to using pigment inks. I used a stamping tool and stamped two layers to get a super good impression. Turned out beautiful!

I did not have luck with this ink for my holiday stamps. I think using it for stencils or embossing is the way to go.

After trying to stamp with this 5 times, it was very uneven coverage, even on the 5th "stamping." At first, it was as if the NEWLY OPENED pad was dry (VERY FAINT stamped image), and when pressing the stamp harder, the coverage was too much (5th). Do I have to REINK a new pad? I used a very tried and true stamp. I have been stamping since 1997. I like the color, I just wish it would work.

Lovely gold metallic that is wonderful for holiday cards. It's perfect blended through a stencil with the domed foam blending tool from Scrapbook.com.
