  • Run through the machine by turning the handle

How to care for your new machine:

Clean the machine and its accessories with a slightly damp cloth only. Do not use a cleaning product or chemical cleaners on the machine. Canned air may be used to remove dust and debris from small areas of the machine. If your handle requires lubrication, place a small drop of household dish detergent between the white and bronze parts of the handle and rotate the handle to distribute. Alternately, you can remove and immerse the handle into clean water with dish detergent. To prolong the life of the plates, use both sides and remove any scrap materials after cutting.

Tips:

  • Do not use WD-40 to lubricate handle
  • If the result of die cut is incomplete cuts, add a shim (piece of paper at least as large as your die templates) between the bottom Cutting Plate and your die template to increase the pressure while die cutting.

Warranty:

The Spellbinders Platinum 6 comes with a limited one year warranty. The machine is warranted to be free of defects in workmanship and materials. Spellbinders will repair or replace a defective product or parts without charge with proof of purchase. If the product is damaged due to misuse or neglect, the warranty is null and void. Happiest die cutting machine

This is such a cute machine, makes you happy just to have it about, like having Jane giving you crafting design encouragement every time you use it. This machine is a worker- cuts all types of papers, thinlets and steel rules cut great.very smooth! Light but very sturdy. Appreciate that all the cutting pads come with it. Hope Jane designs a carry case for it😉

  • My first die cutting machine

This is quite compact, which I like. I had to cut pieces individually, because multiple items didn't cut through. In order to use an embossing folder, I had to use different things to get t to fit.

    Jane Davenport die cutting machine

I bought this machine not because I needed another one (already have the Big Shot, Big Shot Plus, and an original Cuttlebug). I bought it because it matches my stamp room! Love, love, love looking at it with it's pretty color and beautiful artwork, but as a good functioning machine, not so much! First, it's hard to lift because the handle is too little. The Cuttlebug handle is twice as wide so you can easily pick it up with all four fingers comfortably under the handle. This one is harder to pick up because I can only comfortably get three fingers into the handle, which makes the machine feel heavier, and makes it awkward to lift onto my work table. Also, the dr4op-down platforms are very hard to open because there aren't any finger grips (little scooped-out sections) like on the Cuttlebug. I finally figured out a way to add finger grips with some very tough tape, so that there are two "flaps" sticking up that I can grab to open the machine. Unfortunately, they do stick out like sore thumbs, which makes the machine less pretty! The flaps also allow me to close the machine a little more gently than when I didn't have the 'flaps".....it just sort of slammed shut. So, not too happy with the machine as a die cutting or embossing machine, but I DO love how it LOOKS in my craft room! Kinda expensive eye candy. I would not recommend this machine to anyone, and I'm only keeping it because of the color/design. However, I grab my Cuttlebug first and will only use this machine if my original Cuttlebug ever breaks. I use my Big Shots for more extensive cutting and embossing, and only use the small ones for quick jobs.

    Not happy at all!

I purchased this machine because I was wanting to get a compact machine that sizzix big shot dont offer. I was able to close the platform up when not in use. I needed this being I dont have a ton of space. Well my machine arrived and I was so happy to see how pretty it was. Well looks over function is not good! The machine will NOT emboss my standard non 3D embossing folders by just doing what sandwhich it tells you too, no I have to add a few pieces of cardstock underneath the embossing folder, then the top. I should NOT have to use anything other than what it shows on platform. Also the handle squeeks extremely bad when turning to cut or emboss. And yes it is tightened properly. This may be a beautiful machine but what is the use if it dont function as what its sold for? I dont know if this is with all spellbinders 6 machines or if its this model or just mine but I'm not happy about having to waste my cardstock to make good impressions with my standard embossing folders! Or about having to wake up my entire family when crafting at night because of "squeek, squeek, squeek"!
