This seven pack of plates, the Universal Plate System P6 Accessory Bundle, is from Spellbinders. This package includes one platform base which measures 10.625" x 6.25", one platform top that measures 10.625" x 6.25", two cutting plates which measure 9.625" x 6.06", one adapter plate which measures 9.625" x 6.06", one embossing mat which measures 9.625" x 6.06", and one shim which measures 9.625" x 6.06". These plates, also known as cutting mats, can be used in manual die cutting machines such as the Spellbinders Platinum and Platinum 6 machines and the Big Shot machines (all sold separately). They will work with most slimline dies, steel rule dies, thin metal dies, and embossing folders (sold separately). There is a guide to provide you with step-by-step instructions for building sandwiches for all Spellbinders products that can be used with this collection of plates.
I have been frustrated by all the different size embossing folders. Thickness varies from company to company. Recently, I wanted to use a 3 d folder to make a stack of Christmas cards and ended up making a shim out of pieces of chipboard. It worked, but my folder started to curl. In desperation, I ordered this System.I found the chart that showed what sandwich to use with each companies embossing folder. The first time I used it, it was so perfect. My embossed image was nice, and my folder wasn’t curling,. I used it in my Foldaway Big Shot. I like the size, it’s longer than standard plates, but not as long as the extra long platform. Ihighly recommend this system.
Finally decided to purchase this system for embossing. It works great for all the different embossing folders. I also like the little bit longer plate.
I love the new plates. They are easy to use and have clear instructions on the plates and online.
I was surprised that plates were smaller than my original, but that being said, will be easier to handle and a bit lighter in weight. I like the various platform descriptions, easy to use.
I love my Platinum 6 and use it all the time. With the new Universal Plate System, I know longer have to think about which "sandwich" to use. Just what I needed!
I have a Platinum 6 die cutter and was unable to use 3D embossing folders. Now I can and I’m sooo thankful. I also needed new plates so this System is perfect for me. Thank you!

Will the Universal plates work with the Original Red Sizzix?

Hello, the Universal Plate System was designed to be used with the Spellbinders Platinum 6 die-cutting machine and has not been tested in other machines; we do not recommend using this machine with the Original Red Sizzix Machine.

These plates are universal so if the size is the same as the Stampin Up machine they should work. Please consult your machine's instruction book for exact specifications for plates.

These plates are not designed to be used with other brands of die cutting machine besides the Spellbinders - Platinum 6. It is recommended that you only use the plates that are designed for the machine you have so as not to void any warranty or cause damage.
