the silicone mat embosses, and to the person who answered, yes it does cquish out the back end as you roll, it is supossed to do that, it is forcing itself into the die, pushing the paper into the die to emboss it, so it actually gets squished a lot and then some comes out the back, it isnt slipping out, its squishing so much its protruding out. Newbies need the impression pad and silicone mat if they are going to emboss things. paper to cut your dies out of,or other material u plan to use, some use fabric or plastic etc. you def need dies. you need either washi tape or masking tape to hold your dies in place, or a magnetic platform, your choice which is easier, you can diecut without either, but if you want a specific part of the paper and not want your die to move u need to tape it down.i put the masking tape on my hand first to make it less sticky so it doesnt rip the paper when removing the diecut.you need a poky tool to remove pieces of bits from the dies if you are using intricate dies. it can be anything from pointy tweesers to actual pointy tools made for this purpose.pretty much that is it thats needs. wants are another whole story.
