I am a newbie to this world of die cutting and machines as well. I was gifted a big shot but it didn't come with anything to use it so my question is what do I need to get started using the big shot die cutting machine please help me out anyone. I would like to use it to make jewelry I've seen it used on many craft shows and on you tube, but not sure what I would need and can't afford a lot cause I am on a fixed income. Thank you for your time and help and have a wonderful and blessed day.   By: User (03-Mar-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • the silicone mat embosses, and to the person who answered, yes it does cquish out the back end as you roll, it is supossed to do that, it is forcing itself into the die, pushing the paper into the die to emboss it, so it actually gets squished a lot and then some comes out the back, it isnt slipping out, its squishing so much its protruding out. Newbies need the impression pad and silicone mat if they are going to emboss things. paper to cut your dies out of,or other material u plan to use, some use fabric or plastic etc. you def need dies. you need either washi tape or masking tape to hold your dies in place, or a magnetic platform, your choice which is easier, you can diecut without either, but if you want a specific part of the paper and not want your die to move u need to tape it down.i put the masking tape on my hand first to make it less sticky so it doesnt rip the paper when removing the diecut.you need a poky tool to remove pieces of bits from the dies if you are using intricate dies. it can be anything from pointy tweesers to actual pointy tools made for this purpose.pretty much that is it thats needs. wants are another whole story. • Personally for the silicone rubbervwas a waste of money but maybe I don't understand how to use it. It just slips out instead of going through the machine. By: Karenlb (04-Mar-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • What is actual material used to create the Silicone Rubber mat? Does it contain actual rubber or latex? I have allergies and would like to know before purchasing. Thank you.   By: susan21479 (04-May-22) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The silicone used to make this mat is considered part of the rubber family. Silicone is something of a hybrid between a synthetic rubber and a synthetic plastic polymer.
