This Cracked Leather 3D Texture Fades embossing folder is designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. This folder features a one of a kind cracked leather look that is ideal for any masculine project. This folder can be used to add covers to homemade journals and scrapbooks as well as cards. This 3D folder will work with paper, cardstock, vellum, or metallic foil. This folder will both emboss and deboss and you will see a different texture with each type of material. For best results, this folder should be used with leading die cutting machines (sold separately) but with only a single cutting pad and the machine's included platform. Before running through the machine, mist both sides of the paper with water and run through your machine three times. This folder is an A6 size and measures 6.25" x 4.25".
All of Tim Holtz's Embossing Folders are awesome! This one, though, wasn't as sharp as I expected it to be. I've used different thicknesses of cardstock and it's still not defined. Maybe that's the intention but my expectation was that it would be more defined. I'm still playing with it. I did use a couple of sprays of water on the cardstock, as recommended.
I am puzzled by this embossing folder. I usually adore everything Tim Holtz puts out, but I have trouble getting this to emboss. I got the lace one and had the same problem. I get some texture, but it's weak. I have the right sandwich in my machine. Just can't figure it out
This is just gorgeous! It's so versatile to use, especially on the more masculine cards I do. The 3-D adds such dimension to it -- just be sure you are using the right plate, and it may help to see more of the dimension by spritzing your cardstock with water before running it through your embossing machine. Enjoy!
This leather embossing folder is fantastic, it gives any cardstock a leather look. Fantastic, Tim Holtz and Sizzix have done it again.

I dont think it wood. The 3-D folders put a lot of pressure on the paper. I can't imagine even getting a heavier substance to go through the machine.

Yes, I believe it would. Amount of texture will depend on machine youusing tho.
