This 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder, Acorns, is designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix and is part of the Halloween Collection. This folder features small acorns and oak leaves. This folder is compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). This folder, because of its thickness, should be used with only one cutting pad and the machine's platform. For best results, spray a fine water mist on your material on both sides, before running through your machine. This folder can be used to make cards, scrapbook pages, tags, journal and planner pages, and other paper crafting and mixed media projects. The design dimensions for this folder are 6.25" x 4.25".
Tried this TH 3D embossing folder and others from TH repeatedly in my die machines with many different plate combinations and all the Tim Holtz 3D dies WILL NOT WORK. I have many 3D dies from all different manufacturers that work in my Empress and CC machines. These embossing folders are not thicker than some other brands but the fold on them is poorly done so that the folders bow in the center which you can see while they are in the package! This means after accepting the folder the machine needs so much extra pressure to squeeze them together and they get stuck halfway through. This design flaw could be corrected I think. I always spritz my paper before hand with Spray M Boss (much better than plain water) still no go.
This 3D embossing folder is very detailed. It is a pronounced relief image so using water color paper is key. Thin cardstock will tear. Wet the paper lightly on both sides and run it through your machine. It is an autumn die set but will work in any season as a nice botanical background. The embossed sheet works well with Distress sprays and the crayons. You can also ink the folder itself to get a background color through the machine.
This folder is a little different from most of folder available right now. You and use different groups of colors to make the embossed leaves pop.
Love the effect on paper for my fall cards. Wish it was just a bit wider to fit my card sizes.
Great 3D embossing--Tim Holtz never disappoints the detail.
Very Nice Embossing Folder, it really stands out!
I can't wait to use this for juke journals.
Fabulous Embossing folder
I am amazed no one has seen this embossing folder's botanical error! I have never seen an oak leaf like these. Very strange. The leaves look more like aspen leaves.
