The Sizzix Stencil and Stamp Tool is the all-in-one stamp tool that will become essential in your craft room. This bundle contains the Stencil and Stamp tool as well as a 10-pack of Universal Stencil Converters and a 5-pack of the Sticky Grid Sheets. The Tool features a base, removable clear lid, green stencil adapter, a sticky grid sheet, and detailed instructions. By placing your stamp on the lid of the platform, if your stamp did not have adequate ink coverage, you can reapply the ink and restamp your image, not worrying about it being out of line. There is a set of detailed instructions so you do not need to worry that you will not be able to use this tool efficiently.
The Universal Stencil Converters are made from heavy clear plastic and will last a long time. The adhesive on these converters can be reused many times and the converters work with most stencils (sold separately) on the market.
How to Use the Universal Stencil Converters:
The Sticky Grid Sheets are tacky double-sided sheets with alignment grids that are designed to be placed on your die cutting machine's cutting pads or stamping tools (sold separately) grid side up. The low tack adhesive allows you to hold thin metal dies (sold separately) securely and precisely in place for die cutting. These sheets can also be used with the Sizzix Stencil and Stamp Tool (sold separately) and will hold your cardstock in place while stenciling and stamping. This pack contains 5 Sticky Grid Sheets that measure 8.25” x 11.62”.
I was anxious to receive this and purchased the stencil adaptor kit (sold separately) as well.
I used it first for just a one dimensional stencil and was disappointed;
The stencil adaptor would pop up and even w the adaptor straps the stencil did not stay in place - the adaptor straps would ALSO pop off - so now you have the stencil adaptor AND the adaptor straps to try to hold down while also holding your stencil to keep it from moving!
Then I tried to stamp with it.
For cling stamps it doesn't seem to have enough height / lift on the bottom plate to allow for a good stamping. I re-stamped 3 times and it still didn't stamp well. I ended up re-stamping the stamps w my Misti.
I haven't tried it w my rubber stamps yet but that might work better.
There ARE ways to improve it.
I would 1st suggest to Sizzix that they develop something to go over the stencil attachment to keep that in place and from popping up; even a sturdy rubber band would do the trick..
My 2nd recommendation would be that they make a hole puncher for the system so many non-Sizzix stencils could be hole punched, eliminating the need for the adaptor strips. Otherwise they need some adhesive where the adaptor strip meets the stencil adaptor to keep it in place.
I WILL be trying this more - because it's not a cheap investment! Hopefully practice makes perfect.

I am super excited to share this review. I don't normally leave reviews because I think it a bit pompous to do so, however, I have been playing with my new toy and I truly love it. I received this stencil tool as a gift because my husband was tired of me complaining about how I keep shifting my card around while I try to move my stencils. I am newer to paper crafts and have been trying to use my face painting stencils on my cards. That is the why, of how I got my tool. Here is why I felt moved to review.
I am losing my vision in my left eye, I have arthritis in my fingers, and I am the worst with tweezers, though I found a new style that has helped with my projects. With my old stencil tool (not naming names because it's a good tool, just not for me so I don't want to give wrong idea) I kept needing to tape and move, OR, it would not allow for a larger surface area. With this stenicl tool, I have been able to take my large roll of butcher paper and make fun patterned gift paper. I have used the adapter to attach my stencils for face painting and create whimsical backdrops for my daughters projects, and I have been able to stamp a super pretty card. Even with horrible eyes and sore hands, I have been able to hold down the paper with the sticky grid sheets (they don't hold kids down, unfortunately) add my color, then I can EASILY switch to the next stencil and lay it down without shifting. I have adapters for my stencils so I took the time to add adapters to all my face stencils once I figured out how and where to lay them on my paper, and then with the flippy tool thing, I just shift my stencils around until I had the look I wanted.
I use makeup brushes for the ink that I am using, but I also have little finger dobbers which are helpful. To lift my project, I used tweezers. The first time I used the sticky sheet, it was a little too tacky for my personal pref so I took a bamboo cloth and okaced ontop until the stick was too my liking. Not sure if it will be good in the long run, but for now I am really liking it.
I have a 7 year old and we are learning and playing together. She has been able to create thank you cards and custom paper. I am going to try using paint next, but for now it has just been die, glue, and glitter. I appreciate that this has helped me achieve most of my project goals.
Tip about glue and glitter, CLEAN YOUR STENCILS IMMEDIATELY, and just accept that your sticky sheet is probably trash after. Haha I hope you like this tool too. Definitely need more stencils. I did not use the branded stencils yet. I will try to come back and share about those, depends on how pompous I am feeling after I mess with them. :)

I received this as a gift and I love that such a multi functional tool. I love that the clear lid is removable. No more annoying hinge restricting my stamping. And I can get perfect stamping every time with every kind of stamps. The stencil adapter piece was really weird for me at first since there is nothing like it out in the market but it was easy to figure out how to use it after a few try. Super cool that the adapter piece can be adjusted up and down...etc.
I don't have any Sizzix stencils, maybe it sold out already or maybe it's coming soon but I own a ton of stencils from Stampers and I make my own stencils as well. The stencil converter fit snugly on the green adapter with my stencil and the sticky grid held down my project and stencils so well...I created the most perfect stenciled hearts. <3 so much fun! Not sure when I need to replace the sticky grid but I think I can get over 200 uses on it!

I just added this to my cart because I tried my daughters and really enjoyed it. I have been stamping for about 25 years and always swore I wouldn't like any of the stamp platforms. I really prefer the wood mounted stamps of old but have started to get into some of the newer designs with my grand kids. My daughter bought this tool and had me try it over the weekend and I guess I didn't know what I was missing! The only reason I did 4 instead of 5 stars is because I would really enjoy a smaller version for easier storage and space in my small apartment. Otherwise, I recommend it.

I was so excited to get this combo tool! Stencil and Stamp tool in one, count me in! I was nervous that the stencil would move around and not register properly, but I honestly have been so impressed. Each time I pull up a layer it has registered exactly the way I wanted it to. You do have to be careful when inking around the smaller, intricate areas of the stencil, but if you apply some light pressure it comes out perfectly.
The Sticky Grid Sheets hold the paper perfectly in place when inking through the stencil. Which was such a game changer for me, instead of having to use washi tape around the edges (which ALWAYS moved on me).
I also love how I can use my existing stencils with this tool.

This is my first stamping tool and I am in love! I've been saving up to get a stamping tool and was previously looking at the Misti but when I saw Sizzix release one with Scrapbook.com, I jumped at the chance to get one!
I'm new-ish to crafting and so far I've been using a stamp block which is horrible - I can never manage to get enough pressure to stamp evenly and the placement on my cards is always off, so as much as I love to add a sentiment, it was always a stressful experience. With the Stencil and Stamp tool I am able to get the perfect stamp every time - it's amazing! All I have to do is pull the top down and apply light pressure and the stamped image lands where I need it to go and the ink is spread evenly - I can't believe I waited this long to get a tool like this.
As for the stencils, this takes a bit of practice to get used to using the adapter (green attachment that looks like a grid). I thought the stencil converters were such a great idea so I can use the tool with my current stencils - until the Sizzix ones come out ;)
The adapter is great because it's repositionable so I can place it at whatever height I need. It also comes with a sticky grid sheet to keep things in place, which I find to be WAY more useful than using washy tape to hold my projects down as they always move. I'm glad the sticky grid sheet is not too tacky - I was worried using it because the Sizzix sticky grids can sometimes be too tacky and I saw somebody else's review mention this, but after trying it I think it's just the right amount of tacky lol!
All in all, this is a fantastic tool and I'm so happy I waited this long to get one - it's definitely worth the price!

I waited years before purchasing a stamping platform and let me tell you I'm so glad I did! What impresses me most is the large format. I've got room to stamp a full size sheet of paper without having to reposition it. I haven't used the stencil adapter yet but it is very handy having a multi function tool. Excellent quality workmanship as well.

I was pleasantly surprised with this new tool as a birthday gift this week! Its so easy to use for stencils and I found the converter strips really easy to put on to all of the stencils I have already. The really awesome thing for me though was the Sticky Grids instead of magnets. This made it so much easier to stamp things on the edge of my cards and also easier to line my paper up exactly where I wanted it. I also really like the platform size.
Definitely recommend this one over the other platforms out there, I have two others and this is just much better.

This product works great for me! I use a lot of stencils and so far size has not been a problem they all fit on the grid. I Highly recommend this tool.

does the platform have edges or all sides flat to allow for bigger sheets of paper/cardstock?

If you want the stencils to be secured you would need to use the adaptors or punch holes in your stencils.

Will this tool work with other brands of stencil? I have a wide variety of stencils accumulated over many years and hope this tool will work with them. If an adapter is required what is the part number please. Thank you.

There is a adapter available and it says it will work with most of the stencils on the market. The SKU # is SKU sz-664957 and it says that This tool can be used with Universal Stencil Converters (sold separately) to keep your stencils in place. I found it after searching more in this category.
