This tiny paper trimmer is so cute and it cuts well, too. :D I'm very glad I bought this little feller because it will be very good for smaller cutting jobs. It's as though my large cutter of this style and the medium cutter of this style got together and had a baby cutter... I know--very silly... I will get a lot of use out of this trimmer.
It is a good deal, as well.
I'm adding to the chorus of praise. So glad I made this purchase. It's great for smaller cuts, it's sharp, it's light weight, and it doesn't get buried on my worktable in the paper chaos of a project. :) I like the fact that blades don't have to be replaced, so much so that I intend to invest in the large guillotine.
I needed a small trimmer, which this is. However, the piece you want to trim must b extremely small to start with, as in small scraps. It needs to be just an inch or two bigger in both dircetions. Perhaps I'm just used to my gigantic trimmer, and this smaller one has a learning curve. Will keep trying to make it fit my needs.
I love this trimmer and it's become something that I would never want to be without. It's small, but don't let that fool you, it does the job and it's and super sharp, and I mean REALLY sharp! I have it on my workstation but it can also easily fit into a stamping tote for crafting on the go. Love this and every other guillotine trimmer I own in the "Tim Holtz/Tonic" line.
Cindy-Lynn, My Inkie Fingers
I have plenty of trimmers but this one caught my eye because of its size. I wanted a small trimmer to keep on my work table so I didn't have to keep pulling out my big ones for trimming small pieces for cards and small embellishments. It is just right for this use. I really like the locking handle feature too.
Fits on my worktable and is always at hand. Glad I ordered it.
This is a very small trimmer, with the marked width only going to 3 1/2", so be sure you're ok with that before you order. You cannot use the left outside edge to try to get an even 4" cut because it curves out at the top. I'll probably mark mine with a permanent marker so I can get a little more width for some cuts. One flaw that I've discovered is that the finger guard, which is also supposed to keep the paper or card from moving while you cut, is so flimsy that it only holds paper in place if your piece is under one of the two semi-circle finger rests (where your fingers are actually pressing down). A 2" strip of paper placed between those two finger rests will slide around and not get cut straight, no matter how snuggly you hold the finger guard down. Holding the finger guard down also seems to be requisite to getting a good clean cut. You can't just hold the edge of your paper on the mark for the width you want. I should have used this cutter more on cardstock before writing this review, because it might react a little differently on something heavier, but I've been cutting paper with it up to this point. I did try to cut out some small sentiments printed on cardstock, which was something I really wanted it for, but it's not working as well for those very small, thin strips as I had hoped. Maybe with practice it will get easier, but there's a good chance I'll just go back to my rotary cutter & ruler for those little strips. The cutter is also pretty lightweight, so slides around easily. I'll probably start putting it on my grippy mat when I want to use it. Honestly, I was expecting a little better quality for that much $.
This little trimmer is awesome! I actually use this more than dragging my two bigger size trimmers out. It works with more my size of makes and doesn’t take up the room on my desk as the others. Great product and extremely functional!
Yes would recommend. A handy size trimmer to have.
A nice size to keep on your desk. I have the other sizes and this is great for cutting small pieces of paper.
