This does give a fuzzy flock feel, to words or designs, which is nice and elegant. I highly recommend pressure, using a die machine or a laminator. Very minimal, use a brayer.
You can use sticky double sided tape, or deco gel, etc. It does not require heat, if you have a good adhesive. The laminator will help with the pressure. It does NOT work using as a heat transfer as their other foils do, using special heat application paper.
You can layer, but keep in mind, the design can be removed easily, and then leaves a lighter finish. Example: if you use dark green for a tree, add lighter bulbs or branches, then remove, it pulls away some of the darker green. Being this is new, I am not certain how long the layered pieces will stay stuck.
However for words or other designs, it does cut very well. I had no problems weeding out the unwanted areas. Similar to using say foam, only flatter, and easier to remove the areas you do not want. I hope the price comes down soon.
