6 Trendy Scrapbook Embellishments!

When it comes to scrapbooking, I love techniques, spending hours working on pages, and focusing at times on just a single photo. That said, in my albums you’ll also find pages that are just solid photos like the example below!

Photo Page

Whether the stories were already told and these are leftovers, or they are photos I want to include, but don’t particularly want to spend time on – I love pages filled with photos mixed into my traditional scrapbook albums.

Today I want to share my ideas for adding a little bit of decoration and fun to these “wall of photos” type pages. The key is to have fun, relax, and take all worries and stress out of using the "right" photos and sequentially embellishing them!

1. Stickers

Idea 1: Stickers! Layer a few stickers on one or two corners of the photo!

2. Washi Tape

Idea 2: Don’t forget the washi tape! A little bit goes a long way and adds a fun detail – works great with or without additional stickers.

3. Decorative Photo Corners

Idea 3: Decorative photo corners make great embellishments. If using one that you’d like to place on top of a photo, just remove the backing gently.

4. Word Embellishments

Idea 4: Get those word embellishments used, whether they're enamel stickers, wooden embellishments, acetate, or anything! Find a photo with some space and fill it with fun words or letter stickers.

5. Pens, Pencils, and Markers

Idea 5: Don’t forget your pens! Doodling around the edges, or adding bits of journaling directly onto your photos can be a lot of fun.

6. Tiny Puffy Stickers

Idea 6: Tiny puffy stickers are great fun! Try 3 in a row for a fresh look.

These are just six ideas to get you started – all are easy and add a fun pop to your photos. I used a pocket page (with a lot of 3x4 slots) in this example – but these ideas will work on any size photo.

You can also use these ideas on cards or scrapbook layouts any time you’re wanting to work directly onto photos. I hope that I’ve inspired you to venture into some photo décor as you fill your albums with memories and stories. Happy Crafting!
