Journaling is:
The day we left Caye Caulker, Russ and I took a walk down near the main pier. We discovered that the sand in the shallow pools along the oceans edge containted the smallest shells and snails we have ever seen. Russ scooped up a handful and I zoomed in with the camera to get some of these pics. It was really incredible to see ocean life minimized. Normally, you are always looking for such large sea life, but this was just as amazing. We also discovered what we dubbed "where old conch shells go to die" dock. Underneath the dock were hundreds of old conch shells that had been left by the island natives. April 2009

It's hard to see from the pic of the lo, but the right top pic is of Russ's hand holding the shells and the thing on the tip of his finger is a hermit crab/snail of some sort!
