This is my response to CMLeach/Chris' challenge for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group to make a photo into something that's the centerpiece of your LO & to also use journaling not written by you. I made a fish out of several photos & the journaling is text from the Underwater Adventures Mall of America Aquarium website. Note: the date doesn't appear here because it's on the LO that appears in my book before this, which talks about how my family went to the Mall of America on Black Friday during our 2006 holiday reunion in Minneapolis.

PLEASE pardon the imperfect scans/stitching, it flows together better IRL! Those fish in the middle are NOT torn apart unevenly like that but I just couldn't get the left/rights side scans to match up, nor get the top/bottom scan seams to vanish... oh well... Also the right edge (including "bubble" me & the fish photo "seaweed") was chopped off, there's more of a margin there.

I handcut a fish base from cardstock & then collaged the pics on, overlapping certain parts where I though necessary (you digi scrappers probably could've done this in a fraction of time it took me LOL). I inked the back in green & blue, stamped some (hard to see online) swirly "seaweed" at the bottom, & made photo seaweed too. Made "bubbles" from photos, cs & pp...

A couple things happened along the way... I folded the mesh into that "banner" style because I ran out of it & that seemed to be the only way to make that work! And I accidentally almost threw out part of the title (& it was too late at night for me to wanna re-print) so I just crumpled the other side of the title for a wavy watery look. Title was created in WordArt.

AND since those that know me know I love to keep travel journals, I put a paragraph of my own journaling on the back... just had to preserve my own account, LOL.

This is also my 1st use of Stickles, which I put around the journaling, title & pics... OMG now I see what all the fuss is about, I LUV them! Those were an '09 bday giftie from Jesse. Swirly stamps for seawood were from Bren. Thanks Jesse & Bren! And THANK YOU, Chris, for the groovy challenge!

TFL :)
