I took my handyman in to the emergency room this evening. He's been dizzy and passing out when he bends over, and he lives alone so he needed someone to drive him in. The doctor decided to keep him overnight for observation. It's a little worrisome, but I'm sure they will figure out what's wrong with him.

But Monday is my ONLY free evening of the week. My LSS is closed, so I don't have to work at my second job. There aren't any deadlines looming for school. I'm usually caught up on my weekend scrapping projects. And I really look forward to an evening just for me.

But tonight, I drove John into the city to the hospital, dropped him off at the E.R, parked the truck (got a good spot, close to the door), waited in the waiting room while the tests all got run, went back to the truck and made a run to Burger King to get us some dinner, re-parked the truck a second time (farther away because it was obviously prime emergency time), waited with John in the room to see if the doctor was going to release him or keep him overnight, and finally drove home again well after my bedtime.

So instead of a having restful evening, I played the role of valet and taxicab. But I don't really mind, because that's what friends do - help each other do the things they can't do by themselves. He'd have done the same for me if the roles were reversed.
