I wasn't totally shocked when my Gynecologist suggested that I have ahysterectomy, I figured it was coming. So on a Monday, January 11th, 2010 at 6am I went in for surgery. Being “put under” was quite an experience. Actually, I don't remember anything…which is good! Who wants to be able to feel all that pain? Not me! I remember the feeling of lights going out and then I came to…loud noises and nurses calling me by name and telling me, “ all went well.” I kept falling in and out of sleep… it was pretty wild. After recovery, I was taken to the top floor of the hospital, the nurses called it the Penthouse! It was newly renovated with the latest styles and technology. And what a view I had of a spectacular building. Little did I know that it was the Nuns Convent called St. Rose. The nurses told me that the Nuns pray in rotations 24/7 for the patients and staff of the hospital. When I heard this I had a heart warming feeling all over. God was there with me during my greatest need. The staff was awesome! First time I've ever been in a hospital where the nurses actually wanted me to get rest and left me alone! Unlike after having a baby where they check me every 15 mins. If it weren't for the darn machines waking me up I would have slept through the night. All in all it was a great experience for less then desired situation.
