See that little triangle WAY up there at the top of the 42nd floor? The ledge around it is an observatory, and yes, DH talked me into not only going UP there, but also going OUT there. It was terrifying. But beautiful.

This wasn't on my itinerary, but we had time to kill between the Underground Tour and the Harbor Tour, so we made the most of seeing the sights around Pioneer Square.

Smith Tower, opened in 1914, was the first skyscraper in Seattle, and for a while, was the tallest building west of Chicago.

It wasn't on my radar of things to see, but when you're on vacation, and you have time to kill, you might as well see the sights that are there to see and do the things you find in your head to do - like taking your shoes off and wading in the waterfall, or going up 42 floors to look out over the ocean at the mountains to the west.

It's only time. And we're only here for a little while. Make the most of it.
