OH. MY. GOSH!!!! Absolutely LOVE how you think outside of the box!! This is a magnificent beach pocket letter!! Beautiful papers, love the tags, seashells, glass, starfish...all of it is fantastic!! And thank you so much sweet friend for the love on my RB pocket letter and cards.
Wow, Pam, this is wonderful. I'll have to check out this Pion brand you mentioned, as I have never heard of them before. This is absolutely serene and wonderful!
Pam, this is so lovely. The softness & soothing feeling makes me want to sit back in my beach chair & let the water tickle my toes. Wonderful colors, papers, & all of your sweet embellies. I knew Laura would love this before I even read her comments. I think you made her happy!:)
I made this pocket letter for Laura (LauraLsAttic) for the swap here on SB.com hosted by Rebecca. I know how much Laura loves the beach and she also loves soft blue tones so I used this wonderful paper from Pion that has a vintage look and feel. When Laura and I were talking about pocket letters we both said that we like to be free to add dimension outside of the pockets, which got me thinking about what I could do that might not be the traditional pocket letter. I decided to use tags and loop them together with twine to make one continuous string so that if Laura wanted to use it and add photos to the reverse sides she could make a banner or streamer of tags. I also included a book ring in case she wanted to just pull some off for a tag book. The second photo shows just the tags. Thanks to Laura for being open to innovation!
I embossed some of the pieces around the edges with gold embossing powder. I cut the flip flops using a Tim Holtz side kick die set - just right for pocket letters. The glass seashells are vintage and I got them from a local warehouse. The blue sea glass is a treasure from Carri (Callets). I love the color of the real seashells in the last two pockets was just perfect for this paper.
