Give a Cheer
Hi There! For the flip side of my over the page insert I decided to make a pentagon pocket. (You can see how I made the other side at https://bit.ly/48VCSdT) This side is a take off of a classic origami drinking cup fold. Its a fun addition to an album or junk journal. Heres how I made it.
Select a book page the width youd like to make your pentagon pocket. Fold the top left corner down to that it meets the right side, then tear off the extra at the bottom.
Turn it so the long side is facing you. Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom edge and fold. Open the fold, then fold the left corner up to meet the fold line you just made. Repeat on the right side, then fold the top down again adding a dot of glue at the tip to hold it in place. If you want to complete the cup, flip the piece over and fold the top corner down to meet the bottom. Im using this as a pocket, so I omitted the last step.
Apply glue to the bottom and one side, then place it on another sheet of book page or if you like directly into your journal. I added a couple of stickers to decorate the pocket, but thats totally optional.
Made three tags to go into the pocket. One to tuck behind the pocket, one to fit into the top opening and the last to slide just above the stickers.
I attached the bottom sheet of book page to the back of hinge at the top of the prior piece I made. The insert fits over one of the story pages in my journal and is held in place with a decorated paperclip.
