Thank you for sharing this album. I to am trying to scrap the black and white photos from my parents wedding in 1956. Like you, we hadn't viewed these pictures until I found someone who could successfully scan the 4X4 negatives. Now to scrap them......
This is absolutely stunning! I love the hearts and I love the idead of the black ribbon. You can cetainly tell there is a little stress on your grandmother's face standing next to your grandfather!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! wow, this is soooo soooo prettty, I love every inch, every detail... this is my kind of page. lol, love the stitching, papers, photo, everything is perfect...when i get a chance i'll catch up in your gallery. I'll have more free time soon, as Justin got accepted to Abraham Baldwin and I'll be home alone. I can't wait to see your other pages, as for this one it's a ....
PERFECT PAGE
An exceptional LO...love the stitching on the heart, and the dots on the doodling, but mostly the black ribbon symbol. The fiber adds so much, and the jewel is the cat's meow. A great heirloom. God bless our roots.
This is absolutely stunning!!! I LOVE the heart framing the photo! Your curling technique is so appropriate here, as well as in many of your other fabulous lo's!!! You are so fortunate to have found all those photos of years gone by!!! I can't even inagine how wonderfully you will scrap them!! I have some heritage pics too, but have been stumped as to what colors to use. You have shown that heritage pages don't have to be dark and gloomy like I thought they did!!! The colors on this are gorgeous and compliment the pic perfectly!!! Here you go again with supurb ideas!!!!! I love this so much, into my favs for future use......................
OMGosh, Sue...this is absolutely STUNNING!!! I love the papers you chose for this, and the heart is just magnficent! Love the sentiment, too though bittersweet, is so well done!!!
Sue, this is STUNNING!! Your lo's are so inspired!! It's a beautiful photo of your parents & grandparents....and that heart frame is just divine. You are so creative! I love all of the little fibres, flowers, the card and of course your beautiful doodling!! You've done a wonderful job of this page....another one into my favs!!
OMGosh- you are AMAZING!!!! This is sooo beautiful!!! I love the way you curled the paper for on the many layers of the heart- I really, really, really admire your patience!!!!! Wow!!!
Wow Sue. I'm so sorry for all the tragedy in your life! This was a beautiful tribute to all of your family. I love the heart. Gabby is right, it is so pretty and delicate, just like the rest ofthe layout. BEAUTIFUL my friend!
Love this style of yours, you just rock at the paper curling and you have a knack for choosing the perfect paper for the effect! It's so delicate and lovely....the stamp accents add the perfect touch!!...straight to my favs!!
Sue this is magnificent!! You are so good at that paper curling technique!! Great photo - definitely a 50's look to it. The hearts are wonderful! Another of yours in the favs!!
WoW!!! This stitching, the curled edges....the story!!! It is all so fantastic! I love the jeweled tag and the Autumn Leaves stamps! The Stamps at the top like that remind me of a faberge egg I saw one time. Really nice LO.
I love the heart!! those two tags are awesome too! good luck with all the photos..I know it will be tough but it is so great that you finally get to do it!!
The patterned paper is definitely gorgeous and that layered ruffly heart - WOW. I don't know how you made it but it's gorgeous. And the heart with the date, the stamps, all of it - this is outstanding. BRAvo Sue!!
This is a fabulous work of art! The photo is priceless (I, too, have so many where noone in the picture is left...so sad!) and your heart is a true masterpiece. And you've done things that I NEVER think to do, like stamp on pps! WOW! Just beautiful!!
Another gorgeous page from you SUe. Your are so brilliant at this distressing torn paper thing...that it is just wonderful to study. Gorgeous colors and I love the stamping. The pic is just stunning.
Brief background. My parents were married in 1951. My mother died in 1967, my father died in 1985. My grandfather on the left died in 1973 and I don’t believe I ever met him as he divorced my grandmother probably around the time I was born. All my other grandparents are deceased as well, hence the 2 black ribbons. I had never even seen my parents wedding photos until last year (likely due to above situations). Talk about being dysfunctional! So now - some 50 years later – I will attempt to scrap my parent’s photos. It is with a sense of melancholy that I begin this bittersweet endeavor. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So here are “My Parents & My Grandparents”. The card inside has their name, date of birth and date of death. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I hope this is ok for the scraps. Originally this was done on pink background paper, but I didn’t like how it looked so I ripped it apart, but I managed to save the heart. (the pink paper did make the third ruffle on the heart). In a way I unintentionally turned it into a scrap. (don’t look close but you can see some ink from the previous stamping. It’s a goof. ) The paper behind the picture is a scrap. The small hearts are scraps; the fiber and ribbons are all scraps. The little flowers are leftovers from scrappin’ with my daughter-in-laws mother. And the jewel on the card is from my sister’s stash!
