This page is for a circle journal I'm in. The theme is "Love Songs to Our Boys" (It's a group for moms of boys). So it's all about the songs I sing to my sons.

I used Wild Asparagus paper and I am in love with this stuff-- aren't those colors just so fun and unusual? I love the combo-- can't take credit for it since the paper did all the work for me LOL. It's a very "out of the box" color scheme for me, and I really like it.

There's lots of journaling! If you're interested:
These are the songs I sing to my boys – the soundtrack of our lives. Most of them are silly, some are emotionally rooted. Many are my own words to others' tunes. Some have been taken from others and adapted – including the “Scrub scrub scrub” song which came from a particularly well-loved episode of Blues Clues. I sing to my children daily; I get them out of bed with a song and don't stop singing till I kiss them goodnight some days. They love to sing, and our rides in the car are often accompanied by as many songs as I can think of – from “Twinkle Twinkle” to “Grand Old Flag” (Ryan wanted to learn a flag song) to old hymns. I grew up loving music and it makes me happy to see my kids responding to music in the same way. I want them to have a melody in their hearts as they grow up, and I want them to remember a home filled with music and laughter. And so I sing. Silly songs, crazy songs, sad songs, songs made up for the moment, songs written long ago. And they sing with me. What could be better than that?

TAG JOURNALING:
Songs we Love
Jesus Loves Me/ You are my Sunshine/ Trust and Obey/ When the Roll is Called up Yonder/ Love is a Very Special Thing
There are lots of other songs we love, but it's hard to think of them off the top of my head! I asked Ryan what his favorite song is and he said he doesn't know but his favorite color is Red!

Name Songs
My boys have names that work wonderfully when set to music, so I sing their names frequently. I often just add their name to whatever song I'm thinking of, but I do have a few songs I sing regularly. Ryan's song is the “Hallelujah Chorus” -- a grand “Ryan Joseph! Ryan Joseph!” – you get the idea. He knows the tune as well as I do! Sam's song is to the tune of “Silver Bells” – “Sammy John, Sammy John. You are my sweet little Sammy.” I also often sing their names to the tune of “London's Burning.”

Good Morning!
“Good morning to my boysies!/ I hope you're feeling fine!/ Good morning to my boysies!/ It's TICKLE PICKLE TIME!” I sing this every morning when I get the boys up. The last line is accompanied by tickles and screeches. It's a great way to start their day!
