Fun party! I've hinted and hinted until I'm blue in the face that I want to do this but, no one has taken it upon themselves to put it together so, I just may need to take control of the situation! Love this! The paint dots are amazing!
This is so neat! Love that you have painting and wine both incorporated into the LO design. The work on the painted dots is quite amazing. And as another person whose birthday falls about the same time as your SIL, I have to say that has got to have appreciated your efforts for her birthday party. That was so nice of you.
There's a bar near me that has that once a month but I've never tried it. You are so sweet to plan this party for her. Sounds like a great evening! Your LO is amazing!
What a totally awesome layout and story. I love those varied dots - so perfect. Would have been perfect for the rainbow effect , but also works great for this month. I hope you put the story on the back or somewhere - such a great tribute. Fantastic!
Wow! This is amazing. Love all the different colo dots and the wine stain. Perfect touch. Your title is amazing! Beautiful and it sounds like it was a perfect surprise party!
What a special thing you did!! Im sure it will always be a favorite memory thanks to you. You made a fun page and I like your splash of paint...if not wine :o)Ro
Wow!! SO cool and creative!!! I love your paint circles and colors!! The paintbrush is a great touch too! Thanks for playing in the April Sewing Challenge!
This is SOOOO awesome!!!! LOVE that you made all those circles by hand and kept the rest of the page simple. The black stitching and paint splotches are perfect and love the added paintbrush!! What a fun experience and your SIL sounds like she has earned it!
How cool that you were able to make this happen for your SIL! Looks like you all had a wonderful time. Love the look of your layout. I've been to a paint night and was wondering how to do my pages for it. Thanks for the ideas! My mind is working overtime now!
Amazing! I love it! Those painted circles look great as does the "wine" stain and paint brush embellishment! I've done the painting classes before, but used a Groupon so it was half the price as a regular class... It was a lot of fun, but the drinking of alcohol did not help my painting skills which were already very poor, LOL!
My SIL always said she wanted to try one of those wine and painting lessons things. So for her birthday I called around all the places around town...WOW! its sort of expensive. Luckily I have a friend who is an amazing artist. So I cut the price in half (gave it to my friend) and had the girls bring their own wine. We met up at our friends house, who had "made plans" with my SIL to go out for dinner, but "accidentaly forgot her wallet." So when she opened the garage door there we all were...SUPRISE!!! It was great! My SIL is the kind of person who makes everyone else feel special and rarely get the favor returned. Especially since her birthday is 5 days before Christmas....its usually hard to get everyone to make a fuss about it. So hence I felt really good that we were able to surprise her and give her the kind of evening she had always asked for.
SO I lifted this LO idea from a card I saw in the gallery. It really caught my eye and it reminded me of drops of paint on a paint tray. SO I leaned into it because I wasn't sure what other way to work around the birthday-painting party-wine theme featuring the Christmas canvases we painted (w/o any Christmas colors)! haha I did have fun painting all those circles with multiple shades to give some depth. Then I chalked the white semicircles and coated them with clear gloss. Thankfully my friend Jen has a million punches and happened to stop by my office the other day...punching those out was so much faster than cutting would have been. You also cannot see in the photo but all most all of them are lifted with pop dots. I finished it off with the stitching and "wine spills" and good to go.
PS. Forgive the bad choice of ink. I was hoping it would look like spilled wine, but it turned out really red and now just looks like paint (or blood). Apparently we drink really fruity wine...haha!
