Longshadows's Reviews

  • Intricate Die Cut (28 August 2019)

I was on the fence about buying this die cut. I went for it because it really is designed to be a classic and I thought it would make a nice looking stencil as well. It is very intricate and therefore fussy, but if you use the devices out there to help with releasing the pieces of paper, it helps. I recently purchased the die cut brush device that is used on a piece of foam (also a Tim Holtz product). It was very helpful in releasing the bits and pieces that remain on the piece after die cutting. This one is too new to review further.

  • Classic Swirls Die Cutting (28 August 2019)

Tim Holtz designs never disappoint. These classic swirls will be used often all year long. Really nice.

  • Ivy Impresslit (28 August 2019)

I seem to keep adding to my collections with these 3-D Impresslits. This one is so beautifully seasonal. The one pass and done aspect of these die cuts is so nice. Of course, the details lend themselves to coloring. No regrets in buying this product.

  • Flourish Embosslit (28 August 2019)

I really like the detail and ease of using these die cuts. So easy. One step and done. The design was larger than I imagined, but so pretty. A great buy!

  • Stencils (28 August 2019)

This simple and time appropriate stencil will join others I have. I tried it out immediately of course. As always, Tim Holtz stencils are well designed and easy to use. Crisp edges as always. I never have any regrets buying any of these products.

  • Any color Distress Crayon (28 August 2019)

I have many colors to choose from but didn't have the metallic colors. These crayons are lovely to fiddle with. The water reactive quality just adds more fun. Swipe and smear, use a little liquid on your fingers to smear it further. Drop liquid on your colored surface and leave water marks. Use a damp cloth through a stencil to remove color and leave beautiful images. Experiment and come up with so many uses for these yummy colors.

    straight text (15 October 2015)

This product is wonderful if you like stamping your own messages on your one-of-kind cards. I will order more of this type product. Works as pictured. A liitle pricey as peg stamps go but you pay for what you get. Good product!

    Metalic Stains (30 September 2012)

I watched the Tim Holtz video introducing these metalic stains and decided they would add to my artwork. They really are beautiful, just like the other Distress Stains. Well worth it.

    Advantus-Tim Holtz-ideaology Large Ring Binder (30 September 2012)

In my excitement and having been inspired to create a book, I found I wanted ring binders for the pages after the cover was complete. Tim Holtz designs to the rescue. The ring binders were exactly what I needed. I was surprised they are held in with brads and not screws, but now that I know that I will simply plan ahead in my design.

    Little Brayer (15 October 2015)

The size is handy for inking a small area but the handle is equally small. I am going to try running tape around the handle to see if I can make it a bit more comfortable in the hand. Could be I just need to get used to it also. Nice ink coverage--you need to make several passes to get good coverage as the roller is very small so one pass doesn't cover much area. Good product for small needs.

Perfect Layers: great idea (13 August 2013)

These special rulers have been on my wish list for quite some time. The idea is wonderful and I had hoped my frequently lopsided layers would stop. I am having some difficulty with the rulers moving even a little. Hopefully, with practice this will stop.
