this tape is great for embellishments that have a lot of thin areas, use in place of regular 2 sided tape. And it tears easily, don't need scissors.

How thick is this tape? I see it is 1/4" wide, but how thick top to bottom. I am looking for double sided foam tape to use for shaker cards I need it to be at least 1/4" thick, more would be better.

it is not thick. It is like Scotch Tape only double sided. There is another tape that is Foam Mounting Tape, it is double sided but foam is sandwiched in between the tape. The foam mounting tape is good for giving to dimension your cards. I use and I love the versatility of both tapes. Well worth the purchase!
