The Distress Ink Mini Kit #5 is designed by Tim Holtz for Ranger Ink. It includes four shades: Barn Door, Pumice Stone, Faded Jeans, and Peeled Paint. These water-based dye inks are fade-resistant, acid-free, and non-toxic. Use them to achieve a vintage, aged, or stained look. Each mini ink pad is 1" x 1"" with highly-raised felt for easier application directly to paper. You can purchase re-inkers with eye drop applicators (sold separately).
I love, love, love these little things! Even though I have some colors in the larger size, I find many projects in which these smaller ones are so much more efficient.

Love buying these sets, a great budget friendly way of building up my collection of distress inks without breaking the bank.
These 4 inks complete my collection. The ink pads are juicy. I prefer this size because they are easier to handle for me and get in and around small areas of my fussy cuts. I am still able to use them if I want to use a sponge dauber. They reink just fine as well.

Can you use alchol markers with the Distress ink pads?

Yes, Distress Ink Pads can be used with Alcohol Ink markers like Copics however, Distress Oxides can not.

I see some of Tim's inks are listed as Distress Ink and some as Distress Oxide. Is there a difference? I was thinking of getting his blending tool and wanted to be sure I used the correct ink. Thanks!

Yes, there is a difference between the two products. They are both water-reactive but the oxide inks are a combination of dye and pigment inks. The oxide inks blend beautifully and if you are making cards with a background that has a rainbow of colors, the blending between where the colors overlap is gorgeous. The oxide inks also look stunning when you stamp with them on a darker colored cardstock. I hope this helps you and you can also find lots of videos on YouTube that discuss the difference and show products created with both types of inks.
