This mat is fantastic! It’s great for ink blending and I love it for water coloring! The silicone cup that comes with the mat has little dimples in bottom to help clean your brushes. Genius!

This item is fantastic. Easy to clean. The bottom of the cup is a little difficult to get clean because of the ridges in it. But it is a cup for rinsing paint brushes so not a big problem. I love using this mat. It doesn't slide around on the table and things cling to it so they don't move either.
Well, I do really like this mat but am disappointment the small squares do not hold ink cubes. I knew that ahead of time thinking I would just use for ink refill drips. However, when set aside to dry after the first time I used it, a cat of mine tried to play with it and bit a big hole in the middle. It is basically ruined. I can't afford to buy another right now. So the moral to the story is keep them put away when not in use.
So sad.
I have used primarily Simon Hurley's ink (which are water based) but also some archival inks n it has all cleaned easily n beautifully!!! It does get a little warm when using heat on it but not enough to matter!!! I would buy another if someone stole mine!!! I actually talked my spouse into buying one because she is an artist n she loves it, too!!! It cleans up her watercolors easily.
This mat is wonderful. I have a similar one, but the cup is permanently attached causing frustration when it comes time to clean up. I love the white color even though I know certain dye inks and paints do stain whatever they come in contact with. It doesn't bother me or affect usefulness, cleanliness, and value of this mat. I only need to get a couple more!

This is a nice large mat, the removable folding cup is nice, and the paint and paste mixing spots are very handy. It cleans up easily, with a Baby wipe too. I really like this mat !
The mat works very well and was delivered safely and very quick. My only concern that I get, is shipping costs are a bit high. It is a good purchase!
I received my order today and in looking at this mat, it's really neat. I have wanted to try water colors for awhile, so now I will check them out.

Will the mat be damaged if rolled up when not in use?

Hello. The mat will not be damaged if rolled up. You may just need to allow it some time to flatten back out when you first unroll it.

Is this mat heat resistant? Provide the ability to do hot glue projects on with no damage to the mat? 
Does the palette area stain when using watercolors? Or ink refillers?

Hello! Some inks and other mediums may stain your mat; test out a small area on the back of the mat if you're concerned about staining. To clean the mat use a damp lint-free cloth, microfiber towel, or baby wipe and apply gentle pressure to remove the water, paint, or inks

Can I cut w/ xacto knife on Nat without harm to it?

Hello-this mat is silicone and you cannot cut on it with an xacto knife. It would cut right through the mat.

Does this also act as a "sticky" mat, so that stencils or cardstock don't slide when ink blending?

Hello. This mat is not a sticky mat. The silicone surface does grip stencils and cardstock to some extent. We do have sticky mats in our "Coming Soon" that may better suit your needs.
