This four piece Glimmer hot foil plate set, Christmas Mailbox Greetings, is part of the Parcel and Post Collection from Spellbinders. These hot foil plates are designed to work with the Parcel & Post Mailbox set (sold separately) to embellish the front of the mailbox. These Glimmer Hot Foil Plates are compatible with leading hot foiling systems (sold separately). These dies come out beautifully and make your cards look very perfectional.
I thought I had bought dies, but these appear to be hot foil Glimmer plates.
This is the reason for me not recommending them to friends who do not have a hot foil machine.
I have tried letter press with them but I find it difficult on colored card stock, as only white embossing shows up and not gold embossing. Gold embossing on white card stock shows up really well.
So even though I was disappointed, they are still useable for letterpress. I really like the sentiments though.
I wish these came as dies.

Can the hot foil dies be used in any way without foil?

Hello, the hot foil plates can be used to emboss, however they will not cut out.
