Questions & Answers
  • I'm new to using the Embossing folders I just purchased the Sizzix Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder and would like to know just how to use it. Do you have a video on that by chance??   By: hgaul (05-Jan-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • There are several Tim Holtz videos that go over this. Check out his holiday 2020, for example. A couple of things to remember — 1) use a spray bottle to wet the paper first (damp, not soaked — usually about 2 sprays for me); 2) when cranking through the die cutting machine slow down a little to apply even pressure throughout; and 3) crank it all the way through the machine, and then crank it back and out (so it really gets 2 passes). Be careful to not “disturb” the folder/paper while doing this, you don’t want things to shift. Remove the paper carefully from the folder and allow to dry. • You also need to make sure on the “new 3D embossing folders” that you ONLY USE 1 Cutting Pad! Otherwise, you could get your machine stuck or possibly ruin it. Usually your die cutting machine will let you know and won’t let you run the embossing folder through any further! I hope this is helpful. They make beautiful impressions, particularly on foil! Enjoy. By: stacey mae (17-Feb-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
