Questions & Answers
  • I used a circle die from another manufacturer and now would like to buy your dies for other shapes. However, I ran into a problem. The die (using a Big Kick) cut paper to perfection, but when I did the same sandwich using a sheet of lightweight aluminum flat from a soda can, the die left a ridge on the aluminum-the cutters ridge-which didn't happen on the paper. I need to cut the soda cans without a ridge, and also would like to cut 24 gauge sterling sheet, but without the cutter leaving ridges. COULD YOU EXPLAIN what I am doing wrong or not doing right, so I may buy more dies from your company? Thanks, pauli ([email protected]). p.s. I called Sizzix 4x and gave up-as they never reply. PLEASE REPLY. Thank y ou.   By: paulibevhills (26-Jan-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I can't say I've tried using foil with the thick dies. But I've used regular cardstock, and I have a big shot and use the green outlined platform (a little under an inch) with the two acrylic plates as the sandwich, and I've had good luck with that. I have a side kick but never come across that problem. Sorry if this doesn't help, but just noticed you posted as I was searching this product for ideas. I may have to go directly to the sizzix site. The gear die is very large. I didn't realized that. By: CrissyClr (26-Jan-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
