The Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer by Tim Holtz for Tonic Studios is perfect for creating a distressed, tattered look for your vintage-inspired projects! This revolutionary paper trimmer combines the classic, throwback style of the torn edge with the modern technology of a solid blade cutting device for results that will WOW you with every slice. This trimmer creates a random vintage-looking jagged edge. Every inch of the 8.5" deckle blade produces a unique distressed design that doesn't repeat like a pair of patterned blade scissors. I haven't used this much yet as I just received it a few days ago. However, the strips I cut for practice are very nice! Tim Holtz suggested moving your paper strip down the blade to get a different edge if that is what you desire. I like all the strips I cut and the quality of the machine seems to be what I've come to expect from T.H. and Tonic.
After reading all the reviews, I was really on the fence about purchasing this product but thought it would be a good deal for the price. I just used it yesterday and I have to say, I'm very happy with it. I love the torn edge look for the mats I made. So much easier than using a tearing tool. I'm very happy I made the decision to purchase this. I will be using it often.
Waited a while for this to come to market again. Just tried it and I am very satisfied. It works with my style of working. The deckle is subtle but looks beautiful with a bit of added staining. When or if I get around to it will try to post pictures. I tried it on both regular decorative paper and cardstock, shows up better on cardstock.
I love this Deckled Edge Trimmer!!! Have used it several times and so far it is great!! It does such a great job. It was well worth the long wait for it to become available and I feel the price was OK. If you like a torn edge look even just a little, I recommend this trimmer. I am very happy with mine.
I love the quality of Tonic and idea of Tim Holtz. The torn trim is perfect for those of us seeking that vintage photo trim. I love it so much I wish the Deckle would be even more defined. The trimmer has a great comfort handle and the black sleek designs nice to look at in my room. I love the bumper edge at the bottom which allows for cutting closer to me instead of struggling to see numbers up top. Love it!
This trimmer has an elegant deckle edge. I made some very nice Thank you cards with this product. It would be good for Wedding invitations etc. If you are looking for a more rough deckle edge this is not it. Buy Scrapbook.com's deckle edge rulers instead of which I need to put on my wish list. Thank you.
OMG This Paper Trimer is Awesome and the Torn Edge it creates is Spectacular....this cuts so easily and the edge looks magnificent!!
It's so worth the money!! It's a must have!!
I use this to trim the messages added to the inside of cards. It trims so much neater and straighter than deckle edge scissors. I am very pleased with this purchase!
I thought this looked pretty cool when it was first introduced, but by the time I got around to finally wanting to buy this, it was sold out (everywhere)....so I put my name on the "notify me" list and waited patiently. Well, it was so worth the wait. This trimmer is excellent. It puts a perfectly deckled edge on paper and envelope flaps, as well. I just can't say enough good things about it. If you love a deckled edge this is the tool for you!
I’ve been wanting to get this trimmer for a couple of months. I shopped my usual craft supply stores, both online and brick-n-mortar, but the trimmer is always out of stock. My first time at scrapbook.com, I found the trimmer and it was priced lower than any other retailer!! I call that a win-win! Oh, and the trimmer is excellent! It was everything I wanted it to be.
