The outside box is a nice size. The inside storage boxes are a true 5x7. They hold 5x7 photos with room around the edges. The inside boxes are cheaply made plastic. 2 out of the 6 boxes arrived with broken tabs, so the boxes do not close completely. Not sure if I should return it, as it will cost more for shipping. Nice concept, but very poor quality. Will look at Michaels for something similar.
I bought a couple of the 4x6 version of this and I have my ephemera organized into those (so. much. ephemera.), and I decided to use this larger 5x7 one for all of the little non-flat embellishments like the decorative brads, Doodlebug sprinkles, jelly clips, twine, and layered 3D stickers. The cases inside keep everything nicely organized, and everything stays protected. I organized by theme, so when I am working on my Disney traveler's notebook, all of my Disney embellishments are in one container and I can just grab that out of the larger box, instead of having to bring the whole box to my craft table. Considering buying another one to hold all of my smaller spools of quilting thread, as they fit in here really nicely, and I might be able to fit all of them in one. Might.
I really enjoy organization that works and these 5x7 storage boxes work for me! I was able to figure out how to modify my IKEA Kallax drawer installation so that the cases would fit (they were to high until I make a simple alteration on the drawer install. I can fit 12 of the 5x7 boxes in a drawer. I use these to store dies, stamps, ephemera, pens, pencils, so much stuff! I recently bought a labeler and now will be labeling the tops so that when I open the drawer I can see what is where. I have a picture of the boxes in my Kallax drawer but not sure how to post. I hope these come back in stock soon!
