      Fantastic!

I received my Big Shot early in March and have used it to emboss only. i will soon be cutting some wafer-thin dies. I have to say that this is the best manual embossing machine I have ever used! I leave it sitting out on my table and it is so stable and heavy that the embossing folders just roll right through with no wiggle and very little effort on my part. I will be doing a lot more embossing and die cutting with this machine. The convenience of having it right on hand and always ready to go is a real treat for me. I am less likely to use a product if it is a big production to get it down off the shelf, open it up, hang on to it while I roll folders or dies through, etc, Access is really important. I love my Big Shot!

      LOVE the Big Shot!

I love this product!! It is fun, so easy to use, and provides you with the die cuts you want, period. If you are a multi-crafter (you sew, knit, paint, scrap, whatever), you may not be looking to spend hundreds on an electronic machine. If you are concerned that you would not use the electronic machines enough to make it worth the investment (as I was), this is the machine for you!! It uses die cuts from all of the major manual platforms (I love the Cuttlebug embossing folders! Worked like a charm!), and the accessories are very reasonably priced. It is extremely stable--heavy enough to stay put on your table while using, but is not too heavy to take with you to crops. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone!

      LOve LOve LOve it!!

I researched die cut machines & pretty much had my mind made up to get one that needed to be hooked to PC. After much thought I realized that i did not want be on the PC while doing my scrapbooking, I would end up checking email ! So I started checking the machines that took all dies & decided on the BIG SHOT. I am so happy I did.
It is soooo easy to use. Basic directions & no cords!!! It went from box to layout in just a matter of minutes. By using the MULTIPURPOSE PLATFORM you can also cut thinner dies.
The roller is so easy... not hard to turn. The machine has enough weight that it does not wiggle when cutting, yet is light enough that it is very portable.
I highly reccommend this! Plus I love the colors :)

      Great product

I admit, I bought this because the new design was just too cute to pass up. :-) I have used a Cuttle Bug for several years and been happy with it, but decided to treat myself to a Big Shot. I'm so glad I did! It takes up more room on my desk than the Cuttle Bug but it seems like dies and folders just glide through whereas with the Cuttlebug. I had to hold it in place (suction cups no longer work) and really work the crank to get some dies to go through! I also can use an extra thin die I've had for awhile but could never get it to work with my CB, as well as the thick Sizzix dies and over sized ones too. Very happy with my purchase!

    Product Questions & Answers

    • I just got a big shot. It came with 2 cutting pads and a die. What all do I need to cut wafer thin dies and use embossing folders?   By: Sakers2 (31-Dec-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
      • In addition to 2 cutting pads, the machine should also include a multi-purpose platform. The platform tells you how many parts of it should be open for different types of dies. I cut wafer thin dies with the platform completely closed. I think that I have to open the top "leaf" for embossing folders. Enjoy your big shot - I've gotten a lot of use from mine! • Will the extended magnetic platform work with this? And if so, is there any other accessory I should buy with the extended magnetic platform to cut thin dies?   By: iris_sparkup (17-Apr-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Yes it will work in the machine. It is thinner than the machine opening but it works the same way as it would in the big shot. By: Janna L (20-Apr-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

      • It will come with the extended multipurpose platform and two standard cutting pads. If you want your cutting pads to match your platform, you'll need the extended cutting pads. Otherwise, you have everything you'll need for most due cutting and embossing!! Enjoy your new Big Shot!! I hope you love it as much as I love mine!! • Is this machine compatible with thin metal dies? Or only plastic ones? The description of the machine led me to believe you can only use plastic dies. I have several D-Lites By spellbinders.   By: specialk9224 (24-Jun-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

    • What are the basic essentials needed for the big shot. I have a lot of wafer thin dies and want to be able to emboss. I would like to know what is needed for basic die cutting vs specific uses.

      • Your machine should have come with a multi-purpose platform which will allow you to cut with your thin metal dies. If you want to emboss with your thin metal dies you will need the silicone rubber mat and a texture plate (black). You might even be able to fiddle with your sandwiching and get away with just the silicone mat. If you want to emboss with embossing folders, you already have what you need. Take a look at the instructions on your multi-purpose platform. It shows what you need for each use. By: 123_Tamara (27-Jun-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
