Reminisce

You could say that Reminisce started because of a party.  Just after she got married, Andria Gibson was invited to a get-together where she was introduced to scrapbooking.  She fell in love with the art of making beautiful layouts to record her memories.  As she visited scrapbook stores in other towns, she began to dream of using her business degree to open her own scrapbook store.  Andria's husband, Matt, had a degree in marketing and had successfully opened and grown multiple businesses.  He would make the perfect partner.  Andria and Matt put their talents together and founded the Reminisce retail store in Coralville, Iowa in February of 2002.

During their first year of business, Matt and Andria dedicated themselves to learning more about the scrapbooking industry and all the available products.  They paid close attention to what types of items their customers were seeking. Reminisce was soon named one of the Midwest's best scrapbooking stores.  Many retailers would be satisfied with such an honor, but Matt and Andria had even bigger dreams.  By carefully listening to their customers, they had learned what types of items the scrapbooking industry was lacking.  They hired two graphic designers and began working on creating the first of the themed products that their customers had been searching for.  In July of 2003, the manufacturing side of Reminisce was born when the Gibsons introduced two collections based on the 50 United States: Scrap in the Fast Lane and handmade Travel Tags.

For the next four years, Matt and Andria continued to run the Reminisce retail store as well as the manufacturing side of Reminisce.  In 2007, they sold the store to focus on increasing their product lines.  Then, in June of 2008, tragedy hit eastern Iowa when most of the rivers in the area flooded.  An estimated 100 city blocks were underwater and 88 of the 99 counties in Iowa were declared disaster areas.  The Reminisce retail store in Coralville was among the many buildings to suffer a total loss.  Fortunately, the Reminisce office and warehouse were not flooded. To help their fellow Iowans and others throughout the Midwest who were affected by the floods, Matt and Andria immediately began producing a double-sided paper and coordinating sticker sheet called the Flood of 2008.  100% of the proceeds from the sales went to the Red Cross to help those in need.

Over the years, Reminisce has grown significantly.  Matt and Andria have added a staff of permanent employees and independent contractors to help design, manufacture and ship Reminisce products.   What began with only two collections has grown to include more than 180 collections, covering a huge variety of themes.  In addition to the usual holidays, sports, and school themes, Reminisce has collections featuring everything from road signs to rockets, from Yellowstone National Park to disco balls, and from from country music to roulette to roller coasters, just to name a few.  Their most recent releases include a fall collection called Harvest, an ombre Halloween collection called Spellbound, the vintage-inspired Halloween collection, a traditional holiday collection called A Christmas Story, and the very trendy Chalkboard Christmas. Whatever you are scrapping, Reminisce probably has a themed collection that fits your needs perfectly!
Reminisce understands the kinds of products scrapbookers wants.  For over a decade, Matt and Andria Gibson have been committed to creating high-quality products featuring the latest trends in every theme imaginable.  They strive to offer coordinated items that inspire creativity and make scrapbooking fun.  Reminisce wants to help you live and scrap a colorful life.
