I approached the challenge to make a single layer card by starting with one of my photos printed on some matte photo paper and then doing some stamping on that. The card was easy to put together, most of the effort went into picking stamps that would work in spirit, and in size, with the scene in the picture and figuring out what ink would be the best to blend with but still show up against the colours of the photo.Originally I was going to do a postcard style but then decided to go with a fold card since that gives you the option to write a longer more personal note which is, I think, nice for a Christmas card. The sentiment stamp on the front is from a Stampendous set and the upper swirly snow one from a set that has lost it's original packaging but I think it is probably Inkadinkado. They were stamped with Versamark and embossed using Recollections Blue Blaze powder. It's one of the best embossing powders I've found for giving a really nice sparkle.Inside is a Hero Arts sentiment stamp, stamped in Colonial Blue color box and clear embossed. I think this card also meets the requirements for the Keep it Local challenge since the photo was taken, only about 5 blocks from my house, last winter.I think this was a good idea for a challenge and one of the nice things about this, for me, is that if I do need a few quick Christmas cards I can redo this one easily . As some of you may know, I'm not a big fan of re-making the same card over again but this would be so easy that it's a great option if I have a sudden need for a few.
