Questions & Answers

  • I just received the Julie Nutting wooden doll mermaid but I don't know what to use to color it. I love the sample on canvas. I haven't done anything like this before. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. All I've done until now are cards and scrapbooking. Thanks.   By: Shirleyk4 (07-May-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I used gelatos on mine. I've seen them colored with copic markers. You could use regular markers although i don't think they would blend very well. Watercolor pencils or acrylic paint also. Basically anything you can use on paper would work. I agree you should test on a smaller piece or on the back first. By: Ksie (08-May-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I colored with a pearlescent paint. I am not a good painter but with a very small brush lightly paint with a little water - that way you can cover up any mistakes. Have a baby wipe handy. Start on one of the small pieces to get a feel for the color. I did the cheerleader and it turned out pretty good.
Good luck to you . By: jeeperscreepers (08-May-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
