Questions & Answers

• Hi! I am thinking of purchasing the Big Shot Plus, but I to am confused by a statement I have heard. Can you use the Bigz dies
or the Movers and Shapers in this machine, and do not use the Bigz Pro or XL? I was just looking at the pdf
you sent today, and of course this machine is not listed. Sizzix has so many products, it would be helpful
to have a list of the specific cans and cannots for the Plus machine. By: Jcrisci (30-Jul-15) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

• From what I've read about it, the only dies that can NOT be used by the B.S. Plus is the Bigz PRO dies (Big Shot PRO)..the only difference between the Big Shot & the Big Shot Plus, is the size of workspace- You can use ALL of the Sizzix dies, embossing folders, etc.- EXCEPT FOR BIGZ PRO DIES! By: alyssenicole (13-Oct-15) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

• If you already own a BigShot - you can use any of those plates on the BigShot Plus You can use the same dies, the Movers and Shapers, etc. As far as I know right now, any of the products that Sizzix makes can be use with the BigShot Plus. At this time I feel the plus gives you more surface area for cutting and you can use wider sheets of paper. I'm not sure what you mean by a specific list of cans and cannot for the plus. Here is my answer for that: you can use all the dies with the plus that you would use for the regular BigShot. I haven't come across any 'can nots' yet! • Hi, Me again. I just recieved my BigShot Plus and the plates are included and they measure 9" x 15"!!

Included 1 base platform. 1 A and 1 B adapter plate, (these are no longer attached to the platform) and 2 clear cutting plates and all are 9" x 15" By: Tenaciousdae (01-May-15) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

• The size dimensions of the standard cutting pads and adapters for this product are 15 3/4" x 11 3/4" x 7 1/2". I
prefer to use the magnetic platform for wafer-thin dies; 6 1/8" x 8 7/8" x 5/8". I do not use adapters., just the cutting pads in the same size.
You can also use the larger platform and adapters included with the Sizzix Big Shot Plus Machine but they are to big for the dies I am using.

• I am interested in purchasing the "sizzix big shot plus machine only gray and white" product. I read through the q and a section about this, but the responses were from 2015. I was wondering if this offer (great sale price of $139.99) still comes with the plates and other items needed to make it work right out of the box. This is a first purchase with this company, so I don't want to err by reading into an offer that no longer exists. I did leave a voice message with customer service. Thanks for any accurate updates! I see this as a wider platform for larger sheets to die cut with my many thinlet dies. By: ciocidi (28-Mar-16) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! • I have lots of arthritis and now a shoulder injury. I don't care for Grand Caliber, Cuttlebug doesn't work with my larger Sizzix dies, and it and my Big Kick are getting too hard for me. Had heard Spellbinder was coming out with a NICE electric machine by beginning of summer. All I've seen is the small one. I'd rather have Sizzix. 1. Is this any easier to run the big dies or multiples through? Or, 2. Does anyone know if Sizzix has plans to add a motor? That would be WONDERFUL for me. By: MKPstamps (13-Aug-15) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

• The Big Shot Pro is compatible with Accucut dies....is this machine (Big Shot Plus) also compatible with Accucut dies? By: mkvasager (15-May-15) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

• All machines work with all dies. You get a great book that shows you what platforms to use with the diffrent products. If you notice your die is not cutting all of the edges, just add a shim (an extra piece of card stock) normally you won't need to do this untill your machine is many years old. I use my machine about 3 to 4 days a week and needed to shim after about 8-9 years. I replaced my machine after 15 years. But my daughter uses it now. It still works, but my daughter wanted a machine and I thougjt I deserved the new one. 😠By: hclowery72 (20-May-19) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! • I think there may be some info on the Accucut website for this.....not for sure. I did ask, and you can use accucut dies in the sizzix machines (i quilt also, so it was important to know-i didn't want to buy an accucut machine too as I already have a big shot pro!) I don't recall the combo of platforms, I'm sorry about that, but you can use them with it :) By: missuslucky (12-Dec-15) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! • I have the Big Shot Plus and am trying to emboss using a stencil. If I remove the A platform and run it through with the clear plates plus the silicone embossing mat it barely leaves an impression at all, but if I leave both the A and B platforms in I can barely get it to run through and the silicone mat stretches. • I received the regular big shot for Christmas and love it! I’ve been using my Cuttlebug for years and used it almost everyday. I’m home bound and crafting is my therepy! Haha. My question is, does this machine come with everything I’ll need to cut my regular thin Dies that I’m cutting on the big shot now? Or do I need to purchase another plate to use them? I absolutely love this blush pink color!!! It’s going to match my craftroom colors perfectly! Thanks so much.

• Hi, I have just purchased from a Spotlight store, a Big Shot bundle which includes a grey and white Big Shot, a snap on tool caddy, a pair of cutting pads, a standard platform, a thin die adaptor, and a presicion base plate. I was very excited to bring it home to use it and find it wont work for anything! 😣 I have tried embossing folders and dies and the 'sandwiches' it shows to use are not working. They are either too thin and the 'sandwich' just rolls straight through, or too thick and not a chance of being rolled through or the machine will break! I am wondering if I now need to go and purchase a 'multipurpose platform' and if this will correct this issue I am having as very dissapointed. By: Tee80 (08-Oct-18) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! • From the research I've done, the smaller platform, the precision base plate and magnetic platform will work fine in the Plus. You might like the larger platform though, since you can put so much more on it for cutting and embossing. I see that Sizzix has also come out with the extended magnetic platform too, so that's something to save for!! By: lndtlr (26-Jun-17) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! • I have used the Big Shot and the Big Shot Plus for decades now. I get that kick-back when my sandwich is too tight. When the sandwich is tight, it seems to "wind up" the handle so that when you accidentally release it, it kicks back and gives you a good whack! When I feel that the sandwich is a little tight, I keep a firm grip on the handle so that it can't smack me on release. Hope this helps. The thin plate adapter is used to specifically to accommodate thinlits and framelits. The magnetic platform is used simply to assist you in holding the dies in place. Both accessories are there for your convenience if you need, but the A & B adapters will be sufficient! By: Sizzix (07-Sep-21) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! • Some people like having the magnetic aspect so their dies are held in place but it is not necessary.
We hope this helps! By: Scrapbook.com (12-Jul-21) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

So is this machine comparable to the Spellbinders Grand Caliber? My Grand Calibur broke and I'm looking to replace it so I can use some larger thinly dies. By: User (07-Dec-17) Helpful Question? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

• The response I received was ...Sizzix did not have any plans to make a magnetic plate for the Big Shot Plus at this time. The magnetic plate that is out now will work in the Plus machine. I have one on order but have not received yet. By: dlpotts0 (16-Jul-15) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

• I ordered the Extended Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies & The Multipurpose Extended Platform for mine- they were the only ones I could find & haven't seen any that are specifically designed (for size) for the B.S. Plus. By: alyssenicole (13-Oct-15) Helpful Answer? Yes | No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

Is the new gray and white machine the same as the teal; is the model 2015? Also, is their any difference between the Big Shot Plus, other than having a wider entrance, and the the Big Shot?

• The plus machine has a different finish on it much nicer than the older machines. I found it weight a little more than the big shot. I have used my plus machine for about a week now. It cuts smoother and I used no shims. you can use the magnetic platform with is machine. Another nice feature is all the tabs are separate and you don't have to flip to use them. Also you can cut and emboss more at a time and to me that is a plus. I have two other Machines that I will use at class. I am so glad I bought the plus machine. I would recommend the plus machine.
