This Scoreboards XL Die, Card Caddy, is designed by Eileen Hull for Sizzix. This steel rule die will help you create a cute card caddy for storing your mini cards and cardmaking projects. This small caddy will sit perfectly on your desk or craft space. It is recommended that you use a Sizzix Mat Board or Mixed Media Board (sold separately) to create a base for the card caddy. This die can also be used with chipboard and other thick materials, or heavy cardstock to decorate the box. This die is compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). This box can be used in so many ways. It can be decorated for a variety of holidays or back-to-school objects for teachers. It can be given to friends, neighbors, relatives, and others filled with a variety of objects or treats. It can be used to store pens, markers, colored pencils, dies, stamps, scissors, daubers, stamp cleaners, photos, mini photo albums, and more. This die can also be used to make cards for any season. You can add a variety of embellishments to your boxes. This box can be used to store just about anything on your craft desk that is lightweight, you can make a box for every season of crafting, which will not only be exceptionally cute but will keep you busy crafting as well. This card caddy measures 5.25" x 4.25" x 1.375".
This sparked so much creativity in me that I can't stop making these boxes. The die cuts the chipboard easily and with crisp edges so it's easy to use. You just have to do a small second run to get the second side piece. The video was very helpful and had lots of tips on lining and covering the box. My only MINOR niggle is that it's not wide enough to take cards lengthwise (needs another 1/4" I think), but that's minor.
UPDATE - I just learned that it will take 4-bar cards! Excellent and perfect for gift sets. Thanks!
I have many of Eileen's dies, but this one is the best! It's soooooo easy to put together, and makes the cutest box! I watched her video on how to make it and got some good pointers. I'm going to be making a lot of these as gifts for my crafting friends.
