  • A nice addition and decent cutter/score

I like the score tool. It gives a nice score too your paper without cutting the paper and not so light the paper tears when folded. I will still use my score tool for heavier papers though.
I like the measurements at the top/middle/bottom
I like that it has an edge at both top and bottom..
I like the measurement extensions are attached and easily slide out.
The best part is having rose precision blade arrows on the sides making it easier to get perfect cuts. I can turn my 12x12 paper and get 4 pefeect 5x7 pieces.
It’s going to take me some time to get used to the spring when using the blade however I do appreciate the ability this has to adjust to your paper.
The price is great and overall a wonderful sliding cutter/scorer.

  • New Tim Holtz trimmer

Had a cutter I loved, used for years but blades "suddenly" unavailable, new replacement trimmer was not easy to use. Have been on search for "the trimmer" bought the TH rotary trimmer, but doesn't cut clean going up, must hold blade just so, not ideal. Dont like having to have 2nd "something" for scoring. Guide for cutting all light colors,, no dark lines for lining up. Thought I'd give this one a try. I like it. I like that the "guard" comes up, unlike the rotary. Like that it cuts clean without holding guard, blade a certain way. It is sharp! The 2 things I dnt like are #1, repeat from rotary, the light color indented lines for lining paper. It is hard to see if on proper line, some should be darker lines than others to make viewing easier. 2nd thing I'm not crazy about is that the scorer can't be on cutter all the time. You can't cut piece of paper (8 1/2×11) with scorer on. So if I'm cutting lots of papers to score must put it back on track before scoring. I am using it more than rotary I find, but still not quite there in my eyes. I use everyday so its not a random thing. Just my opinion.

    Measurements to small to see

Cuts fantastic. Measurement are too small to see if your vision is not great. Love the trimmer, but the 16th and the1/8th is to hard to read

  • Pleasantly pleased

I wasn’t sure about my purchase for yet another paper cutter. After using it, I found that I liked it better than any of my other paper cutters. The ease in just sliding your paper where you need it without having to lift a paper guard up each and every time is really nice. I think it saves time as well. Glad I took a chance on this one.

Like the cutter but don't like that a 12x12 sheet does not fit to cut due to the scorer tab

    Precision

I love my precision cutter by Tim Holtz. Watched the into video. I purchased one as my old cutter had seen its day. The TH cutter is a sharp clean cut, no hard pressure needed. Packed with many guide markers on the base. The replacement blade is safely put away until needed. The score blade works great. So glad I made the investment.

    Love it!

I have had one issue with paper trimmers, and Tim mentioned it in his live - you have to stop and lift the guide to get your paper underneath. This new trimmer fixes this problem and I love it. This makes cutting much easier.

    TH Precision Trimmer

Great trimmer. Very similar to his other trimmer that looks the same. (Not the rotary one) Love the way you can just slide the paper under without always having to raise the bar. To be honest, I never thought about a trimmer without raising the bar because we always have. Just never gave it any thought, but now after using this it’s like, why didn’t someone think of this before? Light weight so it’s easy to take with you to crops. Glad I decided to see what all the hype was about with this one. Highly recommend.

  • Love it!!

I absolutely love this trimmer. I bought the small Tim Holtz guillotine trimmer just before I bought this one and live this one SO MUCH more. I removed the scoring blade because I use my Scor-Pal

Questions & Answers
  • How do you cut a 6 1/2 piece of paper? Marks do not look present.   By: Joyce Webb (03-Nov-23) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hello, Tim Holtz shared a great piece of advice in his livestream on YouTube regarding the 6 1/2" mark. He advised that it depends on what you are cutting. For example if your paper is 11" you can cut the paper at 4 1/2" and it will get you the cut at 6 1/2" as well. Sometimes if the measurement is not there that you need you can do the reverse math and cut at that measurement to get what you need. • The beauty of the 3961e TH Precision Trimmer and the 3960e TH Rotary Trimmer is that a Lefty can rotate these trimmers 180 degrees and use them left-handed. By: Tonic Studios (21-Dec-23) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Is it possible to have both the scoring and cutting blades in the track at the same time, and does the cutter function as designed if you do that?   By: Cl3nelson (22-Nov-23) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hi CI3nelson,
The answer is yes and no. If you are cutting 12" x 12" paper, the answer is no because the scoring blade would be in the way. If you are cutting paper 11" or less, you could have both scoring and cutting blade on the track at the same time. However, if you have the Scoring Blade under the Cutting Blade you will need to line your paper up at the top of the trimmer. If the Cutting Blade is under the Scoring Blade, then you need to line up your paper at the bottom. By: Tonic Studios (22-Nov-23) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • How thick of paper will it cut? Will it cut plastic paper?   By: Zacktobe5 (20-Nov-23) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hello Zacktobe5,
The heaviest paper Tonic offeres is 110 lb and it cuts single sheets just fine. Regarding acetate (Plastic Paper), it will cut single sheets just fine. If you are cutting a lot of this, you will want to make sure you have new sharp blades. By: Tonic Studios (20-Nov-23) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Does the extended arm have a lip to keep the paper in place and avoid shifting when engaged?   By: acharriez13 (05-Nov-23) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The extension arms do not have the "lip" as it is not needed. Since the first 6+" has the lip, you are squaring up your paper there before cutting. Additionally, when you hold "blade track" to cut, this holds the paper in place so it will not move when cutting. By: Tonic Studios (06-Nov-23) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
