Wow, wow, wow! This stack cutter is the bomb! It's so easy to cut a whole stack of cardstock for make card bases. Want to cut a composion book, or any other chipboard/soft cover notebook in half-no problem for the stack cutter! I'm totally in love!!! There is a slight learning curve and I do recommend watching "how to" video's for tips and tricks on using this amazing machine first. I love it!!!
Been waiting and anticipating the release of the new We R Makers Cinch Stack Cutter. I purchased the cutter and am extremely happy with the product. A slight learning curve was all it took to get the cutter to work its magic. I have been cutting 24 lb stacks of paper to make note pads for family and friends. Learned not to tighten the close function too tight or it will wrinkle the paper, just a slightly firm pressure is all that is needed.
Product is very sturdy, well manufactured and easy to use. I recommend the cutter to anyone who is interested in bulk paper trimming!
A great tool to have if you cut a lot of cardstock, saves time and waste. Good solid tool, easy to use.
I have no idea how long the blade will last. It sure does cut great! I finally got brave enough to give it a try. I didn’t want to be disappointed in yet another product. (I am not thrilled with the thermal binding tool). It was easy to assemble. You just slide on the handle extension. Unscrew the washer at end where the tightening hand wheel goes, cut the zip tie, add wheel handle, add washer, screw on tight. It’s all set! *Additional note: I forgot the blade guard when I first set it up. Easy to install, just put the black marked end towards the back of the cutter and clear edge towards the front. Lift up if want to insert paper from outside.
Insert the paper you want to cut, turn the wheel to tighten the paper clamp. Push red bar button down, while pulling down on the handle. You really do not need the alignment bar if you are just cutting once. If doing repetitive cuts you might want it. You won’t know it cut through until you look. At first I thought it wasn’t cutting through. Once you try it you want to keep looking for things to cut. I first tried an entire sticky note pad. Cut right through it. Then I tried a legal note pad. Cut right through it no problem. So far I love it! I’m wondering thicker stacks of paper, or if cutting through adhesive sheets will dull blade faster. Time will tell. I will always keep a spare blade on hand just in case as suggested. It’s very heavy! Expensive. Not something most will use on regular basis but sure is nice when wanting to cut multiple sheets at once.
This is a great product. The cutting of paper is accurate. All the gears seem to work. Would recommend this product for anyone having to cut a lot of paper.
Got this to make journals and such but I've been organizing my stamps and making new backers and indexes for them... that's a lot of cutting lol. Was using my TH cutter and doing a few sheets at a time but was getting tired of running out and cutting more... so I finally cleared my cutting desk off and set this up. I cut about 20 sheets down to size in less than 5 min - which would have taken over 30 min with the TH cutter. I was even able to smoothly cut off a .25 inch with ease. I'll still use my TH cutter for my daily needs, but if you mass cut this is a must have time saver. Cutting card bases will be so much easier too! I'll eventually get around to make the journals 😆.
This is a phenomenal tool. I use collage books by Maremi Small Arts in my crafting and cutting images out of the book or tearing out a page is not always the easiest task. I am using this Stack Cutter to cut off about an 1/8 of an inch off the spine which gives me loose pages to cut from. So much easier to manipulate the pages when they are loose. This cutter cuts through those book spines like butter. It doesnt even take any effort. I have even had to go back and cut the smallest little fraction more off. With the aligning guide it was so easy to adjust how much to cut off. This is a well engineered product. I am so happy with it. I cut card bases and card fronts from 12x18 heavy cardstock and this tool cuts through a large stack like sliding down a metal slide sitting on a burlap sack. It zips right through it. Minimal effort. I can’t say enough good about this tool.
I am making notepads (50 sheets) with this stack cutter, unfortunately it creates a dent on the top left. I reached out to we r makers and they were not helpful and said I could return the item.
I dont know how the product is i never got it wnd they NEVER gave me my refund or anything.

Will it cut through chipboard?

Hello, the manufacturer advertises the Stack Cutter being designed specifically for cutting through stacks of paper up to 1" thick. We recommend watching review videos online to see what people are experiencing with the tool. It seems like it might be challenging to cut through a single sheet of lightweight chipboard, but as you use more, it gets easier, while it is easier to cut through 1 single sheet of medium chipboard that is lightweight. As the layers get larger, it can take some strength and body weight to get through the layers.

Does this work for single sheets of paper or more designed for multiples? To have space for this would need to give up my regular guiliotine cutter. Would love to have one that works for both.

Hello. This is not an optimal cutter for a single sheet, or even a few sheets at a time. It is best for 1/4 inch to 1 inch thick stacks of paper.

Could this be used to remove the pages from a paperback book that is less than an inch? Specifically, workbooks for Bible study�I can�t write in those little spaces, I like to remove the pages and put into a binder and place extra paper for writing the answers. So it would only be less than 1/2 inch thick at most and without the cover.

Yes, I believe so. I think "We R " says up to , ou just under, an inch. I cut the bound edge iff of an old spiral notebook, it was about half inch.

How often would the blade need replaced? And yes, I realize it depends on use and materials cut. I�m trying to understand on average how often.

Hello, thank you for asking. You are correct. It does depend on the use and materials. For items like this, it can be very difficult to estimate the lifespan of a blade. I would suggest having a backup blade on back up. That way, if you feel like the blade starts to dull, you already have a backup, then replace it when you can with a new backup blade so you always have one on hand. But we do feel like this blade should last you a long while.

Could this item be used for putting holes in the hard covers of children's books like Golden Books. The covers are very thick stock and do have a thickness more than paper. I see that there is an answer about chipboard. I was unfamiliar with the term so I believe I understand how the answer would pertain to my question as well. Thanks!

this doesn't punch holes. it should be able to cut through it though, but I've not tried. if you need to punch holes, the cropodile can cut through it but it would take some strength.
