I purchased these cutting plates for future use. They are a "Hot" and "Hard" item to find. Stock up if you can... I also purchased the metal plate..... Great price....
I was a goober and cut on both of my cutting plates. It is so much better if you keep one as a "NO CUT" plate. Since they tend to warp when put through the pressure of the cutter, it is nice to have extra plates.
I love my Gemini die cutting machines !!! So glad Scrapbbook.com carries the plates !!! Please carry them all. I use my Jr. most but for those larger card making dies & some others you need the large machine. Thank goodness the Jr. plates will run thru large machine sideways ( saving large plates for only large dies.
I've used many other machines and this is definitely the best. No heavy cutting plate and so easy to insert. Cuts beautifuly.

how long can you use the cutting plate before you have to replace it

If you use the plate properly, it should last quite a while. It's suggested that you rotate it 4 different ways and vary where you place your dies - not always in the same area. Also, you might want to investigate using a self-healing mat by following the explanation in the following video: https://youtu.be/GDAsX00n_EA
It really depends on how often you use it. I've had mine for several months but don't use them but about once a week. However I am getting ready to make a bunch of Christmas cards with it , so we'll see.
